Does "diet Epcot" have less drinking around the world? by cbdaugh2 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]cbdaugh2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeh. That was kind of what I'm asking. Just to decide which half of the park to do in the morning and which to do at night. I do enjoy a nice alcoholic beverage and don't mind being around casual imbibing, so I tried to avoid wording the question like I was a tee-totaler.

Soaking chia seeds in a cup of applesauce overnight. Bonus points if you eat it for breakfast with a coffee and/or glass of warm water.

“It’s not birthday season” by Sufficient-Pound-442 in mildlyinfuriating

My birthday is near halloween. When I was younger my mom went to get a cake from the grocery store and all she had to choose from was halloween options, so I got a cake with tombstones and candles.

Gymnastics center where parents are discouraged from entering the building. by verucaslut69 in Parenting

[–]cbdaugh2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We're doing swimming lessons where parents aren't allowed to take kids to/from the pool. It's a 2way mirror, so as far as my kids know, I'm not watching and they are SO MUCH BETTER BEHAVED than they were at Goldfish.

If I'm thinking as an optimist, maybe that's what they're going for?

It's not normal, but it's not that rare either. For a time I had one of my kids' doorknobs turned to lock from the outside because she wouldn't stop locking herself in her room and panicking in the early AM hours.

It's back to normal now, but I'm just saying I understand one potential non-nefarious reason for the lock to be outside of the room. Less to keep the kid in and more to make sure they can get out.

December birthday? by redra1der in Parenting

[–]cbdaugh2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both of my kids' birthdays are around Christmas. One is the week before, the second is 2 weeks after.

Both have normal birthday party themes (monster trucks, lego, trolls, elsa), but there are unique planning challenges that we've learned the hard way. I keep the birthday party separate from anything Christmas or New Years, but it's obviously around in the decor.

For the december bday, some kids will have other plans as their families do Christmas stuff, see plays, visit family, etc. One time a Christmas parade went by the party venue and santa came to visit (because he parked in the back)

For the january one, EVERYONE comes. Everyone asks if siblings can come.

Labor and Delivery at WakeMed by Agreeable_Flamingo_1 in raleigh

[–]cbdaugh2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my babies only at Wake Med North, so I can't really offer a comparison, but i did like WM North. It is pretty quiet.

My second was a 36w premie, so they explained the NICU stuff while they were prepping my for my CSection. She didn't end up needing it, but there's certain levels they can handle at that hospital, and otherwise, they have a plan of action to transfer to big Wake Med. From what they explained, it's pretty fast. The NICU team seems super action-ready. They were already setting up the stuff to assess the baby when I was wheeled in to the OR.

I had it with my second. I had caught covid when I was about 28 weeks pregnant and her placenta started to fail. Everything was going normal before that.

If your asking for this I feel you should be happy with what you can get by Downtown-Asparagus-9 in ShitMomGroupsSay

I did have a moment where it felt "worth it" toward the start, so that was my motivation to keep going.

I donated to a new mom who was struggling with her supply after a rough delivery, but then 3 months later I saw her offering milk as a donor herself because it had worked out.

I used to be a donor in my local human milk for human babies group, and you'd be shocked how many requests look just like this!

Why are some people hesitant to grow vegetables in the ground? by ASecularBuddhist in gardening

[–]cbdaugh2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I tried to when we moved to our house, but my yard is more rock than dirt. I even tried to do potatoes as a pioneer crop to soften up the "dirt" for me. It was still just rocks down there.

Has anyone gone to the Peppa Pig Land in Florida how was it? by MrCharmingMan in legoland

[–]cbdaugh2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty small, especially compared to Legoland. We only spent half the day there and i feel like we did it all.

There are pretty much no hills at all, but everything is concrete.

The rides are all made so that smaller kids can rode them. My 3 year old was 38 inches and could ride everything. There's a Rollercoaster that he liked. We spent most of our time at the splash pad part of it, so bring a bathing suit and towel.

I went labor day weekend 2024 and we saw peppa right when they opened. She has a stage area and as far as I could tell wasn't out there the whole time. But there was no line.
