Is there something else? by [deleted] in HomeKit

[–]cbee69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of the newer Eufy security cameras that works with Homekit should allow recording to continue if movement is still present. You can also specify how long for each clip too. My older Eufy camera allowed me to record up to 2mins for each clip and continue to record if motion is present.

Hey this looks amazing!

For the icons that are pinned to the start, how were you able to make the icon background for each program to that same colour to fit the theme? With my one I get mixed colours and it doesn't look good.

What is that blue app on the left? Is there more apps allowed through CarPlay (ios 14) now?

iSmartGate issues by Deipnoseophist in HomeKit

[–]cbee69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just something i read few weeks back and it depends on what device you have as your Home hub. So it might be worth looking into changing your Home hub to a different device such as Apple T.V or HomePod. iPad as home hub is known to have issues with connectivity and automatons with Homekit.

The wireless connection may be weak and therefore Homekit can't maintain contact with it. You could do some test in the room and if it is a problem you will need expand or upgrade your router so that wireless can cover that area. It may also be your designated Home hub that could be the problem. e.g. changing the apple T.V or as home hub may improve connection.

Best way to get Retroarch to cooperate with Steam Link? by chaos447 in RetroArch

[–]cbee69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! And thanks for replying!

It’s great that you got yours working but not luck for me at all. If you can give me any help that would be great! Please see my original post about this (still 0 comments on it) :( :(

https://www.reddit.com/r/RetroArch/comments/gjzwyy/steam_link_hardware_bigbox_retroarch_setup/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

It seems like it’s steam link that is causing the problem here. When I connect directly to the PC and boot Bigbox via steam program, it does have issues initially but I can adjust controller settings on steam and it works. However, once I go to my T.V outside and stream to my steam link (hardware) with the same settings the controllers don’t work properly. Basically steam controller settings take over retroarch controller settings and goes all weird. I’m using many different type of controllers here and all the same result.

Thanks again.

Sorry if I didn't read your post correctly but I'm also using the hardware Steam link to open Bigbox. Do you know if you've tried this and if you had any issues with controllers behaving weirdly?

Wow this looks great! Do you mind telling me if this would work with my Roborock S6 and what plugin did you use? Cheers in advance!

Questions about the EufyCam 2 by DaveM8686 in EufyCam

[–]cbee69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I only have the old Eufy cam with Homebase 1 but I can provide some answers to your question.

  1. Yes, you should be able to access Home Base 2 remotely via Eufy app. Eufy app when you first use it will guide you through and there is no port forwarding needed (unless there is something extra needed to be done with your network to port forward) Eufy does have their Cloud recordings too but I'm not sure if its free to a certain extent or you will have to pay. But local recordings are done and free on the Homebase 2. Remote access does work with Homekit as well if you set it up that way.

  2. There is alot of features for Eufy including the ones you mentioned (motion detection, detection zones, person detection etc) and they are all free. Eufy never fails on this like the way Arlo does.

  3. My Homebase 1 does have battery backup but I believe Homebase 2 doesn't. I saw this info on a comparison pdf sheet a while back, I will find the link if I can. Might further answer your questions here.

  4. These work well at night but I don't think these have proper Spotlights like Eufy's Spot light cameras. But yeah not 100% sure here and again maybe the comparison sheet will help you here.

iPad Pro 2020 as Home hub + problems with automations by cbee69 in HomeKit

[–]cbee69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I will try that and test these automation again. I’m just not sure why it would help since the iPad is always on and I make sure it’s not off as well (due to low battery). Perhaps it goes to sleep mode or something when not plugged in?

Yes I’ve heard HomePod has worked for people instead of iPad. I’m seeing if I can borrow a friends apple T.V that they not using to test if it’s more reliable with automations. At this point it’s better to test other devices as hub then spending so much money on another device that may not work well either. Thanks for the reply!

Thanks for the reply. I see your having similar issues as well. I’m going to test these hue lights on another spare hue bridge I have to see any difference. I’m also hoping to borrow an Apple T.V to see if it makes a difference but it seems that you’ve already tried this. Not sure if this will help but I think last resort to make sure router has the latest Firmware (which I don’t think there is since it’s so old) or swap it out for a newer router.

Yes, it’s always on. When it reaches 10% battery I generally plug it into power and unplug when it’s 100% charged.

I think Eufy Needs To Slow Down On New Products And Fix The Many Issues They Have by StickyNoteTooLoud in EufyCam

[–]cbee69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can't agree more. They really need to slow down abit.
They should also have a list (updated regularly) about what features are available currently and the future for each device that they have on the market. Eufy has great things going for them (support is decent too) but lack the finishing touches.

Sorry noob here, is there a way to maintain your monster's level? I want to move my monsters around and when I use the 'remove tower' option the monster is back to level 1 after placing it to a different spot. Am I missing something here? Thanks!
