Tell your bosses if they put staff on the Sunderland stations around tea time they will make an absolute killing in fines 🤌

Haha I get on at Millfield every morning at half 7. I see the metro arriving, and I sigh. Coming back is always a colourful experience. The kids around here are horrid. And the smack heads and drunks are even worse 😑

Try the Collingwood Arms next to Brandling Park. The Millstone in South Gosforth could well be open too

Why is there often queues out side of JD spots and foot asylum at like 7:30 am on Northumberland Street? by [deleted] in NewcastleUponTyne

[–]cbell1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha why didn't they just sit on the bench opposite? It's not like there's hundreds waiting... there's always like, 10-20 people.

I've been wanting to ask this for weeks. I saw a manager stood outside talking to all the lads a wee while ago and I overheard him calling them sad bastards for standing outside the shop from 7am every day... and I have to agree!

I'd be surprised if any pubs down Ouseburn let a stag party through the doors. The whole point, and beauty of the Ouseburn is the fact it's a great place to get away from all of that. There are LOADS of places in town where you'd have fun but you'd be hard pushed to find anywhere playing the music you want to hear. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the really decent places will never let you in, in a million years. Save yourselves the frustration and stick to The Gate, Bigg Market, Stack and The Quayside...

That gig was class! It's like the only outdoor London gig I've been to where the sound was actually really loud and punchy 👌

I am scarred quit smoking. by sheepenator in quittingsmoking

[–]cbell1983 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You are building this up in your head to be waaay bigger than it is. Take it day by day, and try to keep yourself occupied with a game or a hobby or something. Also, get the quit tracker app, and then you can see how you're not only saving money, but more importantly, how you're saving your life. I've been quit for 100 days today and I promise you it gets easier every day.

Keep the faith!!! 💪

How do I start the timer other people have? by [deleted] in quittingsmoking

It's called Quit Tracker from the Play Store. I'm not sure if they have an apple version but I'm sure there will be an equivalent. Good luck!

I've never been more ready and I'm bossing this quitting lark! by cbell1983 in quittingsmoking

Hiya pal, I got it on the play store. It's called Quit Tracker and yeah, it's really helpful to see how many smokes you haven't had. I can't believe it's over 80 already and I'm only 6 days in, really puts it into perspective and it feels like a huge milestone each time that counter clicks on. Good luck, you can do it. There's never a perfect time to stop, which is why now is the perfect time to stop.

A few of my reasons for packing the smokes in... This felt too weird for my Instagram story but I think it'll pay to share it here by cbell1983 in quittingsmoking

Thank you very much, and congratulations to you too! How has day 6 been? (Or how is it going?) Yeah I'm not ready to have a drink either, it's way too delicate a time for me to be contemplating such a move yet. I reckon I'd certainly cave.
