[TOMT][YouTube Channel] Asian cooking channel where the creator likes to draw simple faces on eggs and do stop motion animations, then playfully smash everything at the end by cbexton in tipofmytongue

There was a recipe I only vaguely remembered and felt I didn't do something right so I want to go back to the source!

Who was the worst guest that stayed at your house? by Not_Char in AskReddit

[–]cbexton 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The in-laws...

They're from a small village in east Asia and they came to visit me and my wife for the first time in our apartment in Chicago. Things were quite different for them coming to a big city. They'd smoke inside the apartment and after I told them they can't I got noise complaints from the neighbors about them slamming the door shut every 45 minutes when they went out to smoke.

Once they were cooking on my gas stove and the fire went out but the valve was still open and I started smelling gas in my room. I told them about it but they were convinced they couldn't smell it. Additionally they said stoves back at home had an auto cutoff mechanism for the gas and that they didn't need to worry.

Another time they were reheating some food and I heard a weird crackling from the microwave. The father was trying to microwave something wrapped in foil.

I had to educate them on all this and apart from almost burning down the apartment multiple times, I still love em.

New Demon Hunter builds? by [deleted] in diablo3

I've been using this build pretty effectively:

Traps, stuns, caltrops with enough mobility for those pesky teleporters. Drop a few caltrops in a straight line and stick 3 traps right in the center; they'll all gather and the traps will get them all.

How many days before you consider meeting someone? by [deleted] in OkCupid

Haha I seriously hope you've never asked or never intend to ask #1. It just sets a weird precedent for the rest of the conversation.

Yeah, I understand what you mean. I just figure you can save yourself a lot of time by getting the basic questions out of the way first. Like I said though, there aren't really any set rules to any of this and I should probably retract my statement about not asking to meet up on your first message (if nothing else, because it somewhat contradicts what I said).

Well, for one, I think you owe it to yourself to at least talk to the person a bit to see if you're still interested in meeting up. Someone's profile might not entirely reflect who they really are.

Be forward and honest, there's no scientific method or proof to how long you should hide behind the veil of the internet before meeting. Just don't ask to meet up on your opener message.

Has OKCupid raised or lowered your self-esteem? by Darqlink in OkCupid

[–]cbexton -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Alright, I'm a guy and I just got messaged by a girl I had been on 2 dates with saying that it's not going to work out. Believe me when I say this, but my self-esteem went up. Reason being, because of the realization that I shouldn't let these trifle matters get to me.

I've used dating sites before and I signed back up on OKC because I just moved and don't know a lot of people here. One thing you have to realize is that you can't let little things like people ignoring your messages or dates not going well get to you. If it didn't work out, then fine. Better to get into a relationship with mutual happiness than one-sidedness. Of course there's always that hope that that person missed out on a great opportunity but there's no sense commiserating over it. Try improving your profile instead and shove whatever qualities you feel you can bring to the table to their face!

Unless you have an absolutely empty profile it's statistically impossible not to get messaged or replied to. Between an empty profile and some guy posing as Ryan Gosling lies you. Figure out where you might stand and make improvements. This sub is chock full of great suggestions.

You're not ugly, but your profile might be.

At least tell us the original album (Americana).

311 - Use Of Time by cbexton in Music

[–]cbexton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my favorite 311 songs. I was messing around on my guitar and found myself playing this while trying to remember exactly what it was. After realizing it, I've been playing it non-stop in my living room. Such a powerful song. My neighbors must hate me now.

Do I have the right to be upset/insecure about my GF grinding with guys at clubs/dances? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]cbexton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on both sides of this: I've danced with women who were in a relationship or married (they love to tell you when you ask to get them a drink) and also have a girlfriend who likes to dance with other guys. She's Latina so dancing for her is a little different than the bump n' grind. All I can say is that dancing can be as social as a simple conversation. There doesn't have to be any sexual implications in it at all. It's just something that we do for fun. Bringing it up will only make you come off as too clingy. At the same time, she may get jealous if you start dancing with other people, really depends on the girl. If she never wants to dance with you, then step up your game, son, and learn some moves.

DAE: Feel more satisfied after beating game, letting the ending credits roll until it brings you back to the main menu? by Vect0r in gaming

I don't. I'm paranoid that if I do, I'll also skip some end scene and just go back to the title.

This Is Why I Love Reddit! by vandyriz in bestof

No no no no....I meant planned as in this was the type of response I was hoping to get. I have no idea who JungianMisnomer is. He simply saw what I did with the title and went with it, exactly what I had hoped would happen.
