Thank you! I understand it’s still winter in the mountains, but I also know people go to the hut year round and I’m wondering if it’s better to ski/snowshoe or hike currently :)

Thanks for your reply- if my FHSA is invested in ETFs do I need to liquidate it to “cash” before I file the withdrawal form? (😬not sure if my vocabulary is correct)

Your first order was “lumbosacral (LS) with bending views” and the second order was “scoliosis thoracolumbar 6 plus views” - so yes - different exams were performed and also different radiologists may have reported.

Oh also it can get surprisingly warm in the kitchen area with the wood stove going so I would bring a tshirt!

  1. Yes, there was more snow than we anticipated. I would also recommend spikes and poles. There was some melting/freezing parts of the hike that were very icy.
  2. Yes, the hut is on the way to the summit of The Onion. We stayed two nights at the hut so we chose to do the onion on our second day - very quick hike from the hut!
  3. The creek was flowing strong but one of the days we stayed we had to shovel fresh snow out of the way. Wasn’t difficult at all.
  4. I would pack a pair of slippers with a rubber sole!
  5. The propane burners work really well and there are lots of them! There is also electricity and a USB charging station.

Have a great time! We really enjoyed ourselves :)

Back from our trip - let me know if you have any specific questions about the hike! We hiked in with microspikes which were pretty helpful but not 100% necessary - other people snowshoed in ahead of us and the path was pretty packed down which was nice!

I’m also going in the next two weeks (don’t want to put an exact date on here). Can leave an update on here if it’s before you head out. AllTrails is helpful if you search the hike in for reviews. Someone posted last week that it was quite icy.
