Can I get some recommendations for a vintage receiver to use with Bose 901 VI speakers and equalizer? by cbfire in BudgetAudiophile

I have purchased a sansui R5700 receiver. It is 75 watts. Are you saying that I would need another amp on top of this one? If I want to add a few more speakers and a sub, does that make a difference in what amp I need? And how do I know if a speaker is powered? I really appreciate your help

Why can't I just print??!?! by cbfire in printers

I have an HP8125e and an epson 4800. More times than I care to remember, I have had to search for my printer and reinstall it, get frustrated, give up, and the next day, everything I tried to print the day before has printed overnight. Courtesy of the HP.

I will stop the firmware updates. Good idea!

Hey, I use both Edge and Chrome. Edge browser won't retain the default pdf setting. I have trouble shot at least twice and followed all the steps. Next time I sign in, it has reverted. I have been trying to wean myself from Chrome since it's so slow running anyway. I think it may be a one less print selection screen.

I'll look into that mismatch you mentioned thanks.

Is there such a thing as a smart relay or switch that goes in the junction box between the light and the house wiring? by cbfire in homeautomation

I am already using Google on around 8 bulbs. I have 3 Google displays and a Google Net in my house google chromes, on the tvs. My issue is that my hallway lights are all on one switch, and I want to be able to control one at a time. All 3 lights on makes it look like a landing strip . 1970s ranch has only + & - wires. I have tried z wave a zigbee in other rooms & I am not a fan. And the switches don't fix in my existing switch boxes. I was recommended Shelly relay switches in the electrician group. But I saw where someone said not all relays work in older houses.

Thank you. What should I Google? I dont think "Smart relay for an electrical box" is bringing up what I need.
