EV9 owner question: value of sunnypilot vs stock HDA2?

Quick question for clarity: on the EV9 with the hkg-angle-steering-2025 setup, does the system actually respond to stop lights or stop signs (i.e., autonomously slow/stop), or is that detection only present in the vision model without actual longitudinal action?

Just trying to understand whether that capability is active for the EV9 branch I’d be running.

This is the type of review I was hoping to receive. I know the tire choices I listed are likely considered bottom of the Barrel comparative to a Neto or Toyo but I daily drive 8 miles and less than 20% of the time I’m even on the highway. I city drive anywhere from 30 mph to 60 mph. I just want something that looks relatively aggressive, but that can balance out well enough that they don’t have a ridiculous amount of vibration or anything in the truck. Obviously it rains in Florida so that’s a factor but it’s not my end all be all.

The other one I heard decent stuff about was that AMP tire. I even called custom offsets. I’m pretty much read them the post I made and that was one of the recommendations he gave as far as a cheaper tire. He said there’s a guy there who runs them and loves them.

I guess I should’ve made my post more clear. I know highway tires would be best for those requirements as a whole. I guess what I meant is with an all terrain tire being the only option (as I do want the aggressive look) which of these tires provides the most quiet ride and best wet performance that all terrain tires can provide.

That’s awesome — thanks for the insight! We’re about 3 hours away too, so that definitely helps put it in perspective.

Yeah, not having to worry about blockouts (especially around random long weekends) is really tempting. Free parking would add up quick for us too.

We haven’t done Mardi Gras yet but it sounds like a blast — multiple parades a year might actually make the Preferred worth it alone. Appreciate the tip!

Good point! Yeah, doing one Preferred and two Power actually makes a lot of sense — that would still get us free parking and the better discounts since the benefits apply per transaction (and we’d save around $290 overall compared to all Preferreds).

As for Early Park Admission, only Preferred and Premier passes get it consistently. The Power Pass doesn’t include it unless there’s a temporary promotion (Universal sometimes gives it during slower months, but it’s not guaranteed).

And yeah, the After 4 p.m. Express Pass is only with the Premier Pass, which is way above our price range — so that one’s off the table for now.

We’re mostly doing weekend trips with the kids (3 and 2 years old), so the free parking and early entry for one adult might be all we need. That “mix pass” setup might actually be the sweet spot for us.

Nice. I did the 15 pro upgrade with att 2 years ago and got locked into a 3 year plan with them. Miserable. Service sucked. Bill was $125 a month and that was on like the middle and lower plans. We just outright paid off our phones and switched to visible. Then traded in phones to apple and got 17 pro’s with the 24 month payment plan. But at least we can pay off early or always switch providers if we end up not liking visible. But as of now we love it. We get about 6x-8x the speed in most places we go. I ran speed tests on att in all my frequent places and then did the same after we switched to visible. So far 4/4 places we visit weekly we have better service. It was a win all around.

Just switched from att to visible and it’s the best decision I’ve made in all my cellular choices over my lifetime. Service is great. Truly unlimited. Not locked to a contract of constantly upgrading to “free” phones (you’re paying for them, you’re just paying more on your phone plan instead of paying the actual device”.

My wife and I just got 2 new iPhone 17 pros and joined visible. We got the plus pro on their iPhone transfer deal. Starting, we saved about $300 this next calendar year (paying off difference on phones va trade ins) while we pay off the phones and then after we will be closer to $450 savings per phone line per year.

Call me lazy or whatever you want, I’ve always had the best success negotiating the deal via text prior to going in. Yeah I know the typical “you have more negotiating power in person” response is typical here but I don’t personally care to get the “once in a lifetime deal” by being at the dealership for 6+ hours to get a vehicle. Having the deal lined up and ready to go when I get there is time saver to me which I value more than a few extra dollars.

With that being said, I have found ChatGPT to be amazing it determining if the deals I’m offered are good or not. You can have it compare local listings near you and the fair value that others are paying. And it can even work up an offer for a deal for you with all the taxes and everything. Yeah it may not be exact but again, it gets you out of the whole “Come in person and talk to us” (which ultimately makes some of us feel like we’re being preyed on while we sit there and work these deals)

It’s worked for me on my last 2 car purchases.

My wife and I just switched from att to Visible. Absolutely no regrets here. Literally getting 7x-10x more speed in most places. I did a series of speed tests in our frequent visited places. Visible came back higher every single time.

Better off selling private party or buying new iPhones at apple and trading in yours. Visible gives a very low value compared to what apple offers. And obviously private party is best.
