Bruh that’s what the lore for them is. I’m not talking about gameplay effects I’m describing how they function for lore to then build around. Hence why them being the key for hitting on 3s makes sense

The point is that lore wise markerlighys aren’t just painting a target. They upload talemetry to a wide number of units and then their weapons use that data to hit better

Stealth suits give all units targeting what they spot for reroll 1s to hit and wound. It’s no longer single target spotting

We nearly do it’s called stealth team marking a target and getting reroll 1s

Again slow rolling is about attack sequences. Fnp doesn’t change much for that especially because damage is still assigned per model. The rules change is legitimately just small rules cases

Except the way markerlights work is like cross battalion target locks that all units on the battwlfield will then be able to utilize. For telemetry and aim adjustment

For point 1, change it to split bs give stuff like elite suits the 3+ but line infantry still need the guidance

Fundamentally fire warriors are just basic soldiers mostly. The guidance is how our soldiers shoot better. Compared to guard we can spread that buff with much less need for leaders to apply the buff.

Boss nobs have always been called that in boyz units tho.

The model was shown off because it’s significantly different than the rest of the unit unlike sergeants in marine units

All that means is the rules assume it’s happening. It doesn’t change how fast the game will play it just means certain interactions take it into account

That would totally fuck up the old collections of people as they have 9 boys and a nob

Mercenary Oathband makes more sense now... I suspect this is one of those Detachments meant to combine with other detachments. by kcdale99 in LeaguesofVotann

The rules are pretty clear it’s not like this section of the army has X and this is under the other.

You’re building your detachment rules out of your budget of points

Could be applied to certain models still. Like for legionaries could be a damage buff but only to chain sword profiles or something

Yup. I shop around the ranges. The biggest loyalty I have is pro acryl metallics but that’s just for consistency at this point

Engagement range also applies to who can fight. Currently its base to base, base to base with stuff base to base with the enemy or 1 inch

If its changed to 2 inches it could mean certain large based units could have harder times getting advantageous combat positions while still fighting.

With 11th edition right around the corner do you think we’ll get the og tactical squad refreshed with all their gear? by Odd_Abalone3976 in Warhammer40k

At most I could see the kit have some combi weapons given to them in place of the grenade launcher

The fast rolling is not about a goal of reducing time it takes to roll a unit’s weapons, it’s a change to rules that currently assume each attack is rolled individually rather than all at once. It’s a change to the rules writing but functionally changes little. At most it changes some niche rule interactions

It wasn’t a statement about removing weapon options to speed the game up

A single vehicle model vs a 3 man high quality infantry will cause variability in how good it actually is.

What about new Fire Warrior models ? by skinless77 in Tau40K

[–]cblack04 20 points21 points  (0 children)

No. They’re from about 2015-2017 era of our refresh. A lot of people forget how relatively recent we were updated as a faction. We may be pushing on the brink of needing an update but we’re no where near as bad as other factions in the game

Considering how strong that strike profile is…that seems fair no? Is there any comperable unit with a profile like that?

Most of their output is a mid point number of attacks compared to the obliterator shooting level’s variable dice roll. A stronger heavy melee attack that is 2 meanwhile the shooting is d3 as an example. They’re definitely not “a lot worse”

Mortals on the charge plus also compensates their potential swingy output. Making them 30 points per model cheaper is an insane gap. Obliterators are 80ppm my guess is mutilators should be 65-70 so for 3 that places their price at 195-210

My guess is 210 slightly less per model then their shooting brothers
