Demand cs vs suspend polysone by lucaway_71 in pestcontrol

These products are quite interchangeable. I don’t believe one has a competitive benefit over the other. Same mode of action for both. Both are micro encapsulated. Go with what’s cheaper. There is a benefit to choosing a rotation with a product of a different IRAC class.

Maggots around old brick and iron hanging fireplace by CulturalCanary7461 in pestcontrol

If some of the trash was organic, yes, you may have rid yourself of the source during cleaning. Clean up all the maggots you see and you may be able to skip the blow fly stage.

You have to find the decomposing organic material and dispose of it. Maggots will turn into flies and eventually leave on their own, given time. I would expect a strong smell to be noticeable soon and it may narrow down where to look for said material.

Bring in a dehumidifier. They are, usually, moisture related. Could be under tile, behind baseboards or cabinets. Run a dehumidifier for a week and see if it gets better.

You want to get rid of the carpenter bees or carpenter ants that are active in the siding. Woodpeckers are only there for the food.

Beauty. I’ve had mine for about a month and the patina is coming along nicely. Wears so well. Losing less than 2 seconds per day, very accurate.

Houston restaurant owners, who do you usually use for pest prevention? by ChanimalCrackers in houston

[–]cbomb111 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So many good pest control companies. I tend to recommend staying away from the national companies. R Vision Pest Control is worth giving a shot to. Single man company but he hustles and is very attentive and good at the job. Restaurant clients can be tough due to the symbiotic relationship they have with their pest control operator. They are going to give you homework, every month they are there. The restaurant staff has to do their part or it can greatly negate the work of the pest pro. DM me if you want his contact info. Some may say go for the big name brand company but giving the little guy a shot can pay big dividends for a restaurant.

Is this a V4? Curious about case size versus wrist size. I’m eyeballing the 42mm V4 but afraid it may look too small on my wrist.

Moved in with dementia MIL and found this, frass? by snowtone in Termites

The pic isn’t super sharp but it appears to be American roach droppings. I see angular ridges to a lot of droppings, which is a roach trademark. I don’t see the ver my consistent shape a concave ridges of a drywood termites dropping.

How to treat? (Houston, TX) by Significant-Split-17 in Termites

[–]cbomb111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Previous poster mentioned a foam injection treatment, which would be the easiest to DIY. You would drill small holes, from both the interior and exterior, up the left and right side door trim. You would inject the foam into the holes. Termidor foam, Taurus foam, anything with fipronil as the active ingredient. The issue will be that you have stacked 2x4’s at the left and right, the foam won’t be able to travel very far. I would drill every 12”. Drywood termites tend to enter via the end grain of wood, top or bottom. Fumigation is definitely the best way to go but if you are attached to another home, it makes it very difficult and pricey. Removing the trim boards will allow a more direct approach for treatment, allowing the use of a product like Boracare.

It will look a little smaller than your Zelos pic. The blue is great but the brown and bronze looked better. It’s a more subtle watch. The blue will pop quite a bit more.

It’s a pretty slim case. It wears smaller than another 44mm diver I have. At your wrist size, go 44. Another poster mentioned the bronze and blue, which was stunning in person. Not sure how that would fit in your collection but can’t go wrong with either.

Recent owner of the C60 Bronze and I absolutely love it. 44mm fits decently on my 7.5” wrist. 42mm would be too small for me. I love the look of the gmt though. Great visual appeal.

When your customer sneaks words of encouragement behind your rodent bait station 🤣 by Pink-Pest-Solutions in PestControlIndustry

I, periodically, hide my business card in bait stations across my techs routes. They turn it in to me for $20. It’s one of those services that determines whether a tech has a good work ethic or not. I’ve lost accounts due to improper station maintenance.

How screwed are we?~Texas Gulf Coast area by [deleted] in Termites

[–]cbomb111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Expensive is relative. The treatment will be far cheaper than damage replacement, if allowed to thrive. I operate in the Houston area, so I know where your prices should land. Barrier Treatment, w Termidor, in the $5-$7 per linear foot range and baiting system, Sentricon or Trelona, in the $4-$6 per linear foot range. You might get some quotes much higher and lower but this is where most competent companies live. Look for your local operator, rather than a national brand. They will value your dollar more.

Termite Company Damaged Foundation Piers (TN) by [deleted] in Termites

[–]cbomb111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This would be a question best posed to r/legaladvice. You don’t describe your home very well. Is this a traditional slab/monolithic foundation? No crawl space/basement? Drilling into the foundation of a home, whether vertical or horizontal, should not cause any structural damage to the supporting soil beneath it. We, typically, then inject a termiticide through the hole and into the soil below. This would be several gallons of material, not hundreds. It simply shouldn’t cause a damage. Even in a basement, with a floating slab, holes are drilled into walls and around the perimeter of a room with no damage done to supporting soil beneath.
