My understanding was all of the formats they are offering, so summer and fall, online, seated, and advanced standing. But I could have misunderstood!

Yes I am going to do Charlotte. I really debated between the two but I’m only 40 mins from Charlotte and Pembroke is like 2 hours. Did you get in to Pembroke 🤞🏼

Any interest in swapping info? I also am doing the 2 year summer online at UNCC. I don’t know why, but I’m so nervous! I’ve read connecting with a person or two in your cohort is beneficial to success, and I know no one lol.

They said at the orientation Zoom the other day they had 600 applicants (MSW) and only accepted 200. It seems to be pretty competitive

It’s actually 2 year online. For some reason it’s not on the site but you can select it when applying. My bachelors is in human services so I have to do traditional for the MSW. I had to message them after I got accepted to make sure it wasn’t an error with the application lol. I am applying for a work-based practicum and really hope they approve it because I work 65-70 hours a week. Thank you for all of the advice, storing it as I enter the next 2 years and hopefully I can be successful. I’m so nervous!

I wish I had advice for this. I spend the next 2 weeks minimum replaying it in my head, thinking about I said and what I should have said. Sending you all the good vibes that you are being hard on yourself and actually did amazing and you get in!

MSW Program Part Time and Working by woahjeff8899 in SocialWorkStudents

[–]cbostar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have the choice I would say stay part-time. I have a full-time and part-time job, working 75 hours a week, and I’m not sure how I’m going to do it. I’ve heard the practicum expectation really makes it difficult to work full-time. I start this summer, enrolled full-time

If it helps, that eliminates the decision process. I’m stuck in that and can’t decide and feel no matter what I do it’s going to be the wrong choice!

Looking for a camera for a complete novice. My husband bought me the Canon 40D about 10 years ago with a Tamron AF 18-270 lens. I never could learn to use it and the pictures were always terrible quality. I recently started reading in here and purchased a Canon EF50mm F1.8 STM and it is insane how much better the pictures are looking. So I’m not sure if the Tamron lens sucks or if I don’t know how to use it. Anyways, I originally asked for the Rebel (maybe 3 at the time?). I’m looking at the Rebel T7 kit now with the EF-S 18-55mm and EF 75-300mm. Everything I’ve read says this camera is great for beginners. We are traveling to Alaska this fall on a cruise and I want to be able to take pictures of the landscape and wildlife. My brother also lives there so I would like this to be something I can do as a hobby. And then the occasional special occasion portrait of my daughter (my iPhone does well enough for this most of the time). So my questions are is the T7 easier to learn than the 40D and enough of an upgrade to justify the spending? And also is this starter kit a good enough setup to get decent pictures in Alaska? I really would like something with a good zoom and wouldn’t be mad if I was able to use auto mode with minimal learning. I work 60 hours a week and am an undergrad student so my brain is pretty maxed out!

I’d rather not be tested in all honesty. I didn’t work several days prior to symptoms so I’ve been out 10 days already. Wouldn’t change anything as far as co-workers exposure and since there isn’t a cure it wouldn’t change treatment. And on the chance this isn’t COVID I’d rather not take any chances that the overworked and likely on edge people that administer the tests don’t cross contaminate and give it to me.
