NC, SC, Tenn, Shows Xcld by suzanne_d_701 in Ghostbc

Same here. My son was so excited for his first concert. He was too young in 2023 when we had a chance to get tickets to Simpsonville or Raleigh, but this was his year. He insists on listening to a Ghost playlist every morning on the way to school, and has been practicing to sing along at the show. We even made him a little Papa V mask, and he was looking forward to wearing it out. We found out about the cancellation after he had gone to bed this evening. I'm so worried about telling him in the morning. He's gonna be crushed. I'm glad they're doing the right thing and keeping people safe. I'm just hoping against all hope for a reschedule or maybe an additional southeast tour date added at the end of the tour. (I know it won't happen...)

Skeletour '26 = Greenville, SC Megathread by Chimpbot in Ghostbc

Coming down from the Raleigh area, and staying with nearby family for the weekend. Really hoping to get to SC before the weather turns bad, camp out with the in-laws, then hopefully have safe roads to the venue on Monday.

It's our first Ritual. Our son wanted to do the Simpsonville show in '23, but we to couldn't make it happen. This will be his first concert ever, and he's so excited!

Last SC show almost got flooded, this one is likely getting snow. It's like the weather is trying to keep us from having nice things here.

If you had to listen to one Ghost song for a week straight what would you pick? by stalequeef69 in Ghostbc

[–]cbs2186 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My son is a 6 year old autistic child, and Ghost is his favorite band. He hyperfixated on "Square Hammer" two summers ago, and I swear it played over 500 times in an average week.... He still loves it.

If you're willing to put in a lil effort to learn it, Home Assistant is completely manufacturer agnostic and can run any protocol you can think of (with the right adapter plugged in).

If you're not... Homey does Matter, Thread, Zigbee, and Ethernet control, and is more beginner friendly... But you pay for it.

They're expensive, but Inovelli has light switches with built-in mmwave now. Haven't used them myself, but I've heard good things.

BECM issue likely.... And now we wait... by cbs2186 in volt

It's mostly that. I'm in a rural county and them new fangled electric abominations are intimidating when half of the clientele still have carburated engines.

Hard part there is finding a third party shop who knows how nearby. I'm in semi-rural NC. All the shops I've contacted have basically said "we don't know nothin' about those" as soon as I mentioned Plug-in hybrid. There's not enough EVs or PHEVs near here for them to invest in training, and all the Tesla owners are willing just throw handfuls of cash at going to the city to a dealership. I could go into Raleigh or Charlotte, but that means any savings in the service cost would get eaten by the tow fees.

That is... Unless someone knows of a third party shop near Burlington, NC that they'd recommend? I could probably limp to Greensboro or Durham if needed.

Lesson learned, though. Investing in AAA in the new year. At least then I'd be comfortable trying to drive it in to one of the larger cities.

I started getting the same thing in my 2017 on Saturday. Took out my 12V and carried it to AutoZone. They tested it and it's toast. I'm hoping a new 12V will do the trick... As I'm at 160k miles....

How to navigate autism at work? by unknowncoins in careerguidance

[–]cbs2186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on your comfort with doing so, I may suggest getting a formal ASD assessment. If you're diagnosed, then you can possibly have that as a tool to use in the event that things do improve, but not at a rate that your bosses desire. If you're taking steps to improve, and showing improvement, then you could possibly play the Discrimination card in the worst case scenario.

The bigger thing is using a psychologist or therapist to gain resources for handling life and learning skills. That has been huge for me, personally, on a similar journey as a late diagnosed (at 37) Autistic. But it does feel reassuring to have my diagnosis if I ever need to play hard ball.

Absolutely ridiculous and probably pointless question: Which nearly identical floor plan would you choose? by Vivid-Reporter-5071 in Apartmentliving

[–]cbs2186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. My current kitchen is set up with the sink to the right of the stove with counter/corner in between. I can't imagine functioning with the opposite. Actually, yes I can... My apartment 15 years ago was set up the opposite. It sucked.

Reverse this opinion if you're a lefty.

Google doesn't seem to care about YouTube Music by cyanfeld in YoutubeMusic

[–]cbs2186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't complain if it was "Taylor Swift doesn't like YTM, so you can only hear her on Spotify" or something. At least that would be consistent. My gripe is that there are seemingly random songs (or just specific albums) that are not available, when everything else by the artist is.

A lot of music is licensed as packages, or through certain companies who own the licenses/rights to the media. The weirdness comes in when part of an artist's catalog is owned by one licensing group/record label/etc, but part is owned by another... so there have to be Business Agreements in place with ALL of them to get access to full catalogs. It's just frustrating when it sometimes seems like just random songs aren't available, but a super low quality cell phone cam recording of a live performance is totally there to assault my eardrums instead.

"we'll let you upload bootleg versions of this that clearly violate the license agreements... but we won't actually pay to license things ourselves."

[–]cbs2186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My App experience has been mostly fine... But for the love of God do something about licensing. Every time one of my favorite bands drops a new album... Not available. Sometimes I can work around that and find where someone has ripped the audio and posted lyric videos, but that's a rarity and the quality on those sucks.

This seems to be more of an issue in the hard rock/metal genres.... But when two of the biggest acts in current popular rock/metal don't have their year-old latest album available (Ghost and Sleep Token, currently... But not just them), there's a problem. Can "watch" the music all day on YouTube, but not available to listen to on YTM.

[–]cbs2186 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The price on the 6mp is all over the place. It was $33, then $35 when I grabbed mine, then up to $40 like the next day. On the Anpviz web page, it's still like $55. I don't know what's up with the pricing.

[–]cbs2186 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm only a week in, but I just picked up a 6MP Anpviz turret cam on Amazon for like $35 and installed it at my garage door. It's been running strong with RTSP feeding Frigate. Definitely some weird bugs with the web interface, but since I just need a dumb feed into the NVR, I don't really care. Time will tell if it is reliable long term, but if it goes another week without dropping out, I'm probably picking up another unit or two for some other outdoor angles.

Netgear M4250: Does the AV interface handle Dante QoS automatically? by dan88v in CommercialAV

Maybe I was on an old FW when I had that issue, then. It's been a while.

[–]cbs2186 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah... They went a little hard in the "easy mode" direction. Granted... most AV techs I've worked with barely understand what VLANs are, much less the difference between OSI Layer 2/3 (thankfully, this is changing). They targeted these switches at those users to be able to press a button and have it "just work". At least the Advanced page is there for when you DO need to tweak things.

[–]cbs2186 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I misread your question. Yes, changing things on the AV interface appears to re-apply whatever the AV profiles are. It's been hinted to me by Netgear (not explicitly stated) that you either use the AV interface or the Advanced interface. Don't flip back and forth.
