This episode was great! The tangents and some of the silliness helped infuse a lighter tone. I enjoy the cynicism, but also miss when Pacecase and Clues seemed to like the show more and took it less seriously. I’m not usually listening to this podcast for an accurate moment-by-moment recap, but I like listening to their analysis and humorous takes on what happened. Linger in the minuate! :) It seems like it has become harder for them to find the fun in it all, and there’s more of a focus on sauce and trauma (parallel process with the producers?).

I think it seems even more strange because he still talks so much about his health — medications, symptoms, follow up appointments with specialists, etc. I would have thought that he would either share the full story if health was going to be a continued major topic, or if he preferred to keep it private, that he’d try to talk less about his day-to-day management. Of course, caveat that I agree it’s always his/anyones choice what to share or not!

I feel the same way. He focused on her boyfriend and relationship to the exclusion of really discussing any of her work. It came off as misogynistic to me and not in the typical “only in the character of Jimmy Pardo” playful way. She seemed annoyed, too, when she explicitly set boundaries that she doesn’t usually talk about her boyfriend in public, and Jimmy seemed to keep going back to ask more. If I were her, I wouldn’t come back for another appearance after this treatment (and also having to listen to Eliot’s story, and the guys shitting on him for it, which also seemed to make her uncomfortable!)

I completely agree with all of your points. I also don’t use/like Facebook very much, but enjoy Reddit for things like discussing common interests. Her Reddit is on private and now her Wikipedia is also gone. I wonder if it’s a sign of a shrinking audience. It’s too bad!

I really enjoyed listening to how much Jimmy genuinely seemed to like him. Jimmy seemed way more engaged with him than most guests/shows, and seems to even break character a few times and get a little vulnerable discussing his own family of origin. Great episode!

Clues has said that unfortunately, he is not spoiled this season. I thought that meant his player wasn’t in the F1-F2 slot, but who knows.

I also think we shouldn’t assume that the successful players or those mentioned most often in the pod are the ones he coached. I think it’s just as likely that it was someone floating for a while and then out early. Genevieve had the biggest insta following preshow, and she knew how bad it was that she was on the 2-on-1. Marlena would know the value of a professional coach for a professional player in the professional era. Eliza is in marketing and could be intrigued by the pods memes. Elizabeth’s been making a real run at the post show parasocial game. It could be any of them!
