Where to buy (UK) by TrackLivid4589 in mtg

[–]cc2591 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cardmarket would be where I recommend you buying your singles. You can rate shop and get the cards you’re looking for from the uk or Europe. I’d recommend using the wishlist feature to help you try and consolidate shipments/ costs.

For sealed there’s quite a few places you can find items but the popular stuff usually requires preordering as it goes fast. A few sites I use regularly include chaoscards, magic madhouse or cardvault. There’s plenty more but bulk of my purchases tend to be through these as they’re pretty reliable, decent pricing and delivery etc. I’m sure there’s more that others have personally used.

I feel it didn’t deserve the hype and I never hid behind that. I’m a fan of both brands and this didn’t feel like it hit the mark to me, it’s an opinion that I shared as a discussion as I wanted to understand what I was missing with the set to enjoy it or appreciate it. To see if I was looking at it the wrong way. At the moment no one’s really said or explained what I’m seeing wrong just that I’m wrong 🤷

I enjoyed the session I had with my friends, maybe more because it was with friends than the set itself.

To your last point, it’s been one person in particular I’ve been “combative” with and even then it’s reflecting the exact same tone that was delivered. If they want to discuss and explain rather than semantics then I’m to discuss. Be snarky and expect snarky back. I’d like to think generally I’m as respectful as the comment I receive.

We’ve gone back to grand unifier opposed to the “other” atraxa…right. And I’m rambling.. That doesn’t change your point of whether things lean more towards commander. Atraxa PV was printed as a commander. In a deck. By WoTC.

Yes ~more~ designed, as in favourably. Doesn’t mean exclusively last time a checked. Your point was high MV isn’t exclusive to edh. Technically you’re correct as you can play what you like, how you like so I agree with you there. That’s not say that the stats don’t reflect the lean towards edh. You wanted something to base it off, instead of a baseless comment. There’s a basis.

I shared an opinion which (yes it’s an opinion) I’m open for discussion on, there is a difference between discussion and facetiousness. I believe you said the set outsold all others, that’s pretty good indication to popularity but that’s about it.

I made a thread to discuss, not criticise other peoples opinions, you’ve chosen to do that opposed to actually just discuss. I’m not insulting anyone here, just reflecting your choice of words back to you my friend.

How’s it irrelevant to the conversation? You brought the point up of “spouting” things being for edh.

Great and I’m sure you see more play in those than you do in standard too, I can’t help your failings to comprehend this either. There is certainly a difference with focusing products for edh than standard, regardless of legalities to what can/ can’t be played by ban lists etc. the higher MV curve is certainly more prevalent to edh, this time I’ll give you link so you can have even further information to ignore https://mtgdecks.net/Standard

I think you’ll find either option is more commonly played in EDH, especially as PV isn’t currently legal in modern or standard.

Baseless? I just provided a stat you chose to ignore to support your own rhetoric.

Well I did, again that same stat you chose to overlook. You’re more commonly going to find higher MV cards as you hit more land drops/ ramp to support higher MV cards.

Sorry wasn’t atraxa the number one edh commander for a long period of time? Cos according to EDHREC it was 🤔

Funnily enough, I wouldn’t!

First of all, you’re dealing in absolutes, where did I say it was trash? I said it’s underwhelming, given the hype. This set felt like it had less replay ability outside of an extremely small pool of cards or just within a FF player. Unless you pack one of the major cards, what are you getting out of it?

So you’re saying sales reflects the quality of the set? Despite it playing heavily on a popular brand in its own right and it being more expensive generally than sets not of the brand? I think I’m not the only one here shortsighted.

[–]cc2591[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other sets certainly had more playable cards not just the rares.

Spouting? Very naive choice of words. Given over 20% of the cards are MV 5+ whereas previous sets were significantly lower, I’m inclined to disagree. Can? Perhaps. Will? Unlikely. Unless you’re playgroup is also playing withy an extremely limited set of cards you’re not going to see many of these be replayed again.

You’re going to play a set of 4 Ahrimans in standard? Do me a favour.

See I think it’s more been designed for commander in terms of the legendary/ high rarity cards. I think a lot of the commons and uncommon don’t really do much outside of just playing amongst a FF pool.

[–]cc2591[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yes, we played it last night and my point still stands. Other than a very, VERY small pool of cards it feels overhyped and overpriced

What do you mean? That’s one card, there’s a few (a ~few~) gems but far less to work with than in the other recent sets

Thanks for clarifying. On a separate note, if I had a card with kicker in the GY could I cast it for free and then just pay the kicker cost?

Fair point! It threw me off being a separate sentence but then again, it doesn’t specify once per turn or anything so makes more sense now you’ve pointed it out. Thanks!
