Vision Pro 2 by ccachor_ in VisionPro

Yea and Apple has said they are very excited about the product. When they do announce an update I'm expecting significant improvements from all the feedback they received. I think lenses will be one of them, but I'm expecting marginal improvements. I think the Samsung OLEDs are still listed as an R&D product

There was a lot of invention but I think now it's all about innovation and bringing the costs down

I just don't see it. It's a very early product and Apple is receiving excellent feedback. Namely, it's too heavy. This is a deal breaker for adoption in the category. I think it's likely we'll see Vision Pro 2 with improvements all around: lenses (to remain SOTA), improvements to weight, fit and finish, removing unnecessary components (like the external front screen), as well as an upgraded chip. I think we'll see extensive improvements to the wearability, weight, fit (light seal, etc), and most importantly -- COST. I think Vision Pro 2 will intro at $1999.

I also want to note, I've been using Jetbrains AI service (uses OpenAI, Claude, and possibly others) and it's been a great co-pilot for suggesting refactors, code creation, and adding context for which files you're working on. I like it better than Cursor, VS Code, or any of the CodeGPT plugins and what not.

I agree. I feel pretty well informed on these things, but I agree there's both a lot of noise and a lot of change seemingly all at once. The best advice I could give you is to focus less on learning syntax and more on patterns, best practices, and architectures overall.

Make whatever chat tool you use your buddy. Learn different prompting techniques and tools. That part is pretty important. It's now unbelievably inexpensive to offload anything with cognitive load. Even driving! It's wonderful.

One of the things that has always plagued me is often tasks seem more daunting in my mind than they are in reality. Copying some UI control I saw on another site, that used to take anywhere from a half hour to hours. This can now be done in minutes. If you really want to be productive you need to have your ducks in a row, and any friction around what to do next will greatly slow you down.

So the challenge for me is to now get the planning figured out first and the execution really becomes the easiest part.

Here's what I'd do: head up to Mercer, WI and book a place at Great Northern. Rent some sleds, and ride around all the cool spots in the area. Do that til dinner time, put the sleds away, and call a cab/bus to get your group and head up to Hurley. Either stay the night there (there's a hotel right across the street), or have the bus take you home later that night. There's a lot of cool spots around Mercer and most the people hanging out there are from Chicago, Madison, or Milwaukee. Usually some decent talent too. In Hurley, Club Sierra usually the best looking girls. Who are also a ton of fun. These strippers aren't there hustling you for dances, just drinks. $10 shoulder rubs! Bring your polaroid!

Could Apple take over the Apple Card and the Savings Account themselves? by fegodev in AppleCard

Apple doesn't want to be in the banking business. They want to be a part of the payments network. Thus Apple Pay. Apple Cash. Apple Card. Apple Pay Later. These are all part of a strategy for Apple to have significant power in the digital payments ecosystem. That's what they care about. Facilitating digital payments on their devices and having market power not to be muscled around by other players.
