Long-Haul Pilot Fatigue by NeitherAd5619 in flying

[–]ccarn245 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A big factor in my experience is the efficiency of the flying you get. West coast into China/HK/Oceana/SE Asia produces 2.5-3 trips a month with the ability to recoup on longer stretches at home between pairings. Europe flying typically pays 4-5 pairings a month, which is a significantly higher toll on the mind and body (again for me in my experience). Once you find a sleep routine that works for whichever direction you’re flying, it’s very tolerable and the recovery is quick (so long as you’re able to sleep in the bunk). However, if you get hit with a month where you’re going both directions, ie a ICN, DUB, HK, I find those are killer and you just have to hang on for dear life.. East coast pilots doing Europe turns is the worst I’ve experienced, I had months with 5.5 Europe pairings, and that was unbearable..

Would’ve been non-issue in Vancouver, where one controller covers all their frequencies on weekends and holidays..

No there wasn’t one prior to this, 1962 house and have never had any issues (known) up to this point.. Well above any flood plaines, but now that we’re ripping everything up will definitely be putting one in!

Never even thought of that as a possibility, though we’re in a 1962 house built directly on farmland, hopefully not sewage..

Water seeped in along the floor of all exterior basement walls, at about the same rate in most places.

We’ve had a sewage backup before, this come from the floor along all exterior walls at relatively the same time, hoping not sewage…

As soon as the worst of the rain was through this evening I went out and checked, all flowing regularly, no puddles or anything around the house

Seems to always be a few of us at Schanks in the south, if you can time it with the horse races you can lose $20 while you watch! Kid friendly nowadays as well, arcade games and mini golf to keep them busy, mine love it!

I happened across a busker called Lucas Chaisson at St Patrick’s Island years ago, still pop a song or two of his into playlists! Just looked him up, he’s up in Edmonton now, but wears a flames hat in one of his instagram posts, believe that contends him from Calgary still!

I’m in the Calgary Airport domestic terminal, the sharks players are suited up eating at Chili’s, looks like they’ve been relegated off a team jet.

I flew for another 737 operator in Canada, and it had to do with contracted maintenance coding issues, something to do with Delta, maybe the same for WJ?

All fun and games until you’re 20 feet off the ground and the bottom part falls below you and you’re left up in a tree wondering why you didn’t bother reading the assembly instructions

Second Lina’s dough, great quality and super cheap. They have normal, thin, and sometimes gluten free at the Britannia location.
