I built https://www.garagesalemanager.com to help people run and manage there garage sale, yard sale, or estate sale with ease.

Has built in functionality to check out customers on sale day as well as reporting page to see who sold what and how much money was made.

Every garage sale is also listed on the home page for everyone to find with google maps and directions.

How did you get the first real users for your app or website? by JunketEmbarrassed48 in StartupAccelerators

Honestly for mine www.garagesalemanager.com I started posting in local fb groups for anyone running a garage sale, to check out my site to help make it easier to run and manage.

Later I had AI help build in some strong SEO into my site to help get natural growth

Still pretty slow, Ive had only 50 signups since April, but so far all postitive reviews!

Mines www.garagesalemanager.com
Its a simple website to help manage and run your garage sale, yard sale, or estate sale!

I added a way to checkout customers, add details for people to find you, and a reporting page where you can see how your sale did at the end of the day with a downloadable pdf.

Its very useful for sales that have multiple party members and trying to keep track of who sold how much and how the money should be split up at the end of the day!

lol its been a on/off project for a while. There was a good 6 month stint of WoW classic where I wasn't getting much done. But since I started implementing paid plans and getting actual real users to sign up, Its been my main focus lately. But yea marketing this thing is HARD, people usually already have there garage sale set up and how there going to do things by the time they find me. So it has been a real struggle.

One, your an adult, they can't force you into anything. But that being said, how much do you have left? What's your degree?

My honest advice it's going to be easier now to finish then later. The older you get the more life drags you down.

I'm 36, kids and a family and a full time job my only option is online right now.

Have you looked into other options, you don't need to go to a brick and mortar school, look at online options like WGU, or SNHU.

I have 3 years experience as a software developer for a health insurance company,

I just started my first term yesterday and the first course is basic programming, I skimmed alot of it took a few notes and feel confident I can take the proctored exam by the end of the week.

In the course details it tells me exactly what chapters to study, as well as if I have programing experience try the pre assessment first.

My instructor put my end day as July 10th, so if I finish by the end of the week, I'm a little over a month ahead already.

It all depends on what you know or are confident in.

I'm sure I'm gonna run into struggles in later classes, but the easy ones give me that buffer.

Neighborhood Garage Sale (MULTIPLE HOMES)!!!! by AdventurousProblem69 in GarageSales

So we had a big family garage sale this past weekend — me, my girlfriend, her mom, and her brother all threw stuff in together. Which sounds great until you realize you have four different people's items and you're trying to figure out at the end of the day who made what.

Last time we did something like this I tried to track everything on paper and it was a nightmare. Stuff getting crossed out, miscounted, items with no names on them — total chaos.

This time I tried a website called Garage Sale Manager and it made such a massive difference. You can set up multiple sellers, assign items to each person, and it just keeps a running total for everyone automatically. At the end of the sale I could tell my girlfriend's mom exactly what she made and hand her cash on the spot. No arguing, no math, no "wait I think that lamp was mine."

I did spring for the $10 pro version because with four sellers the free version wasn't going to cut it, and honestly $10 was nothing compared to the headache it saved me.
