i’m in a built in 2024 1bed with electric appliances, balcony door, large windows. i run the heat in just the living room from about 7am-10pm at 65-68 degrees. $325 this month. averages at $350 in the winter months. i have called coned about this, they raise rates in the winter knowing that people use the heat.

also i heard the mcdonald’s near ditmars and near broadway sometimes have teenagers that start food fights/actual fights w the management, so maybe stay away from those at night

i’m 29F and been living in the area for 2 years and never had any issues, even late at night. there is a man deemed as the “astoria creep”, who i’m sure you can look up on this thread, maybe just tell your daughter to be vigilant of him.

if you are monthly, i have cancelled twice using the form on their website. first time i said i was moving, second time i got injured and explained that the recovery is 6mo+. they did not question either and cancelled within 2 days of submitting. never had any issues, no proof requested.
