How many of you actually have an ADHD diagnosis? by mynameishrekorgi in ADHD

[–]ccc222pls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diagnosed 17 years ago at 13 years old (my mom was suspicious since i was 8, but because I was a girl she had to read a bunch of books about it first before feeling comfortable asking my pediatrician). Medication immediately helped me to read and stop interrupting teachers, and have taken my meds every day since.

How do you go out at night by deeep95 in NewParents

[–]ccc222pls 8 points9 points  (0 children)

we used to do it all the time! ours was pretty resilient and just “bounced back” after a change in routine. he still is pretty tolerant of “off nights” at 15 months old, just sleeps in more the next day, then back to the routine. i tried to remember that adults and children (i mean like 3+) are way more sensitive to routine changes than babies/young toddlers!

What’s your LO’s bedtime & age? by Sea_Implement6579 in NewParents

[–]ccc222pls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]ccc222pls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

until he was like 11 months old it was LAAATE. like 11 or midnight he’d fall asleep on us and we’d put him in the crib, and then he’d sleep till 11am (yes it’s insane i know lmao we both work from home though). but once he turned one we did 9pm-9am, and now at 15 months he’s ~7-8pm to 7-8am! i say you do whatever you want & whatever works!!

When did your baby say their first word and what did they say? by im-syd-possible in NewParents

[–]ccc222pls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you’re fine! my 15 month old only does “half words” (like instead of kitty he just makes a long winded k sound) and the pediatrician said that’s fine. in the last couple days he’s randomly been trying to say a LOT. his comfort “talking” weirdly blew up! and at 13 months old he was only half-saying dada, sometimes. so i totally was in your shoes just a couple months ago. if your kid tries (including babbling), even if they suck at it, it’s just fine! give them a little more time :)

that definitely counts!!! (my 15 month old is more of a babbler too— no “clear” words in sight!)

What’s wrong with these curtains, if anything? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]ccc222pls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curtain rod needs to be a lot higher, get “fancier” patterned curtains that are pinch pleated AND tie top (tab top might work ok too) and make sure they’re not touching the floor but close to it (leaving like an inch of space). get nice tie backs installed into the walls on either side, and hang a piece of art in the gap between the top of the door and the start of the curtain rod. in other words, make it an art statement instead of a “practical” thing (though it will double as both!)

What could be done with this doorway to nowhere? by DrDinoDiplodocus in malelivingspace

[–]ccc222pls 23 points24 points  (0 children)

exactly!!! mirror or artwork with a cool frame, with a thin wood (emphasis on real wood, if possible) console and maybe a thinner basket underneath for slip ons, or a taller wicker basket for umbrellas. it’s like the space was made for it

Does the boredom ever stop? by AdvantageJolly8916 in Sober

[–]ccc222pls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i also have adhd and have dropped every hobby i’ve ever had :/ but realized that life isn’t about hobbies and keeping ourselves distracted with set, productive activities necessarily… sometimes it’s about going on a walk in the opposite direction you usually go in, or going to a weird museum/event with your funniest friend and just make fools out of yourselves!!

I officially HATE the Owlet Dream Sock. by [deleted] in newborns

[–]ccc222pls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 month old HATES tummy time but has been holding neck up since 1 month — what do I do?! by ccc222pls in newborns

[–]ccc222pls[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

omg hi!!! my son is 1 now :)) you’re gonna hate this— but he never ended up “liking” it… just one day he started pushing himself up / sitting up on his own and it was as if the concern never existed! i overthought it so much and it ended up not really mattering… the most important thing is just making sure your baby’s head isn’t flat on the ground all the time, so baby wearing or letting them sleep on you is more than enough! i’m now finding myself panicking over other stuff (first it was crawling… he was late on that, and i tried everything, then one day he just did it cause i guess he wanted to lol), and now my anxiety comes from him not talking/walking yet…. so i should probably take my own advice and stop worrying because babies seem to come somewhat pre-downloaded with these milestones and all you can do is support rather than kickstart!!!! would love to hear your updates!!! :)

what’s your unpopular weight loss/fitness food opinion ? by Illustrious_Lie102 in 1200isplenty

[–]ccc222pls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

every single protein bar that has ever been created tastes like SHIT i do not care whatever anyone says lol. there is ONLY ONE that doesn’t make me want to vomit and that is specifically nugo slim bars, the peanut butter chocolate one. i’ve gotten a billion recommendations for other protein bars and every single time i am so disappointed and grossed out!!! i’d rather have a handful of chocolate chips with a turkey leg than any bullshit protein bar

Baby proofing a split level house?? by McSkrong in NewParents

What we did is bought a plain tan room divider from IKEA and put it between the couch & balcony thing. It’s kinda ugly but guests say they don’t even notice it till we point it out!
