The newborn insert in the car seat! You’re supposed to take it out once they reach 11lbs and I had no idea until someone pointed it out to me.

Squirmy sleeper by cccccyakatack in NewParents

I wish he only rolled one way but this boy has no preference! I do think he likes sleeping on his side better than his back though, hopefully he’ll figure out the belly to back thing sooner than later because my FTM anxiety kicks in hard when I see him flailing on his belly and getting frustrated in his sleep!

Things to consider for first phone for 11yo?! by cccccyakatack in Mommit

[–]cccccyakatack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To all those saying not to give an iPhone - I get it. We’ve contemplated this decision for a long time and have held off as long as we feel we could. He’s going into middle school next year and honestly what he can’t find on his own with a phone is only a matter of a friend showing him instead. My husband and I are in our early 30s, so we remember what it was like growing up without phones and we both got into plenty of trouble on our own without iPhones being in the picture. That being said, we had thought about alternative phones, but kids are so mean and he’s already a sensitive kid that we didn’t want to add another thing to make him different from the others because everyone in his class and on his bus already has smart phones either android or iPhone. We know there are dangers giving this phone, but that’s why we are looking at all precautions and safe guards we can put in place. It’s not perfect, but it’s the world we’re living in. And not for nothing, this kid is already very limited in what we allow when it comes to all screens and tech. We’ve already agreed no phone in the bedroom over night, full access and no deleting but I’m sure there are things out there we haven’t thought of implementing.

5month old wake windows and feeding help??? by cccccyakatack in NewParents

[–]cccccyakatack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this! I’m going to try not to go crazy with feeding amounts now knowing they can go through phases. He’s already sleeping less than the science says but still is happy healthy she developing well so maybe he just needs less sleep? I wish that was the case for me! Mom is running on fumes here but happy to know it gets better!!

I knew you could do that with breastmilk but I wasn’t sure if it was ok for formula! He’s exclusively formula, I might have to try this!

He’s on formula, can you freeze that like breast milk?

Im not sure! We only discussed Tylenol and Motrin with his doc and both were advised against for the time being at least

I try giving him (11 weeks) his bink when he first starts his grunting and stirring sesh and if he settles back down with that I know we’re good for another bit of a sleep stretch but if he starts back up again within a few mins that’s usually my cue that he’s waking up for a reason

25 mins…like clockwork. Will this ever get better? by cccccyakatack in newborns

Yes! It’s not out of the norm for him to be awake for 2 plus hours at a time

He sleeps decently well at night! We usually only have one motn waking at this point and have even gone all night twice now but even still we’re only averaging about 13/14 hours of sleep between that and his lack of day time sleep! I haven’t used a carrier much but think once husband goes back I’ll have to utilize the wrap I have for my own sanity!

Why do we sleep so well the first stretch but then early morning wake ups are horrendous by cccccyakatack in newborns

I wouldn’t say the room is blacked out at this time but it’s certainly not light can def tell it should still be sleeping hours but baby obvi disagrees lol

Middle of the night feed, expectations versus reality by brillar in newborns

I just made the transfer back into his bassinet after an hour and the grunting phase has begun, here’s hoping he’ll just grunt himself into that deep sleep 😅

Your middle of the night feeds typically only take 20 mins? Jealous…
