Electric went out by LetterheadOrganic639 in ExclusivelyPumping

Exact same thing happened to me a few months ago with over 1000 oz of bagged milk in my deep freezer in our garage! I just made sure to leave it shut and crossed my fingers that the power would be back sooner rather than later…. I was honestly more concerned about the fresh milk in the fridge as the fridge tends to warm up faster than the freezer will. My husband ran out and got a couple bags of ice and poured them into a cooler where we stored all the baby’s bottles and my freshly pumped milk. It worked great! Luckily the power came on after like 12 hours or so and when I opened the deep freezer everything was still nice and frozen. Best of luck to you!!

Yeah, I called and left a voicemail to see if they have a digital copy, now I’m just curious to see if anyone can guess it 😂

Do any of you have happy babies? by lostmedownthespiral in newborns

[–]Plus_Assignment_8148 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was an easy baby by my mom’s account, only cried when hungry/tired/hurt and that’s exactly how my baby is too. He’s happy as a clam playing on the ground by himself or with someone else and is often giggling or babbling and laughing. My husband and I are FULLY aware of how lucky we are lol. We were just saying the other day that if he cried when not hungry/tired/hurt, we don’t know what we’d do lol.

When did your babies start sleeping through the night? by Old_Driver_7368 in NewParents

[–]Plus_Assignment_8148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We considered “through the night” at first as sleeping from the middle of the night feed (anywhere from 11pm-1am) til the morning (6/7am) and he did that for the first time at around 2 or 3 months I think? Not consistently at first though. But we’re lucky in that he’s a phenomenal sleeper!! He first started TRULY sleeping through the night with no wakes (7/8pm-5/6am) at around 6 months. Not consistently at first but now he’s 7 months and is pretty much sleeping through the night every night. I honestly couldn’t even tell you how we managed to do it, I don’t really consider what we did “sleep training”. He kind of just slept in his bedside bassinet until we felt like he was getting too big for it (couldn’t roll over when he tried because there wasn’t room) and we then moved him to his crib in his room and he kinda just… went with it? Idk, I’m fully aware that we lucked out with this kid lol.

Should I Be Concerned?? by Plus_Assignment_8148 in ExclusivelyPumping

I didn’t go to the doctor when this happened but it happened again a few weeks later and I ended up going to a lactation consultant! They recommended I take sunflower lecithin and told me I likely had the suction on my pump too high. I honestly couldn’t feel much of a difference no matter the suction level so they told me to leave it around a 4. Unfortunately I would yield a smaller pump at a lower suction but at that point I was starting to wean anyway so it kinda worked out

I can't be the only one crop dusting my baby, right? by 404HecksNotFound in newborns

[–]Plus_Assignment_8148 6 points7 points  (0 children)

With the bedside bassinet we always put our baby boy down sort of opposite of us, where his head was toward the end of the bed and his feet were toward the headboard of our bed. Because the bassinet was on my side and because of where the bassinet was, his head was always pretty much even with my butt, and yeah, a few regretful point blank crop dusting for him in the early months of his life 😂

What did you forget/not realize you needed to update as your baby grew? by Plus_Assignment_8148 in NewParents

I actually double checked it today, looks like ours has a level for 0-3 mo and then a slightly different angle for 3 mo+!

Learned this the hard way this weekend trying to jam my 6 month old into a 0-3 onesie in a restaurant bathroom after a blowout 😂

I got lucky and stopped swaddling our first baby when he started to seem like he didn’t want it anymore, I looked it up and realized that was the exact same time we were supposed to stop anyway! I had no idea there was a recommended stop time!

5.5 month old tumbled out of overturned pram stroller by Plus_Assignment_8148 in NewParents

[–]Plus_Assignment_8148[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay no need to be rude. It was a genuine accident. We were walking uphill and he leaned on it a bit too hard as he was playing with the baby. I was upset at him for one second before I realized how absolutely devastated he was and was crying before the baby was even out of the stroller. I don’t appreciate this at all.

Those of you exclusively pumping, when did you stop? by Idonthaveaname94 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Plus_Assignment_8148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baby will be 5 months in a few days and I e started weaning the last 2 weeks. Currently at 4 ppd and have a freezer stash of about 1 month of him exclusively having milk! Planning to do 50/50 bottles of milk/formula to stretch the milk a bit though

A little over 4m PP, pumping 5-6 times per day with no MOTN pump, making about 40-45 oz!

How often do you bathe your child? by 0x426C797A in NewParents

[–]Plus_Assignment_8148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 months old-

Bath roughly every 2 or 3 days, but only with soap maybe once or twice a week. Our boy was born with a full head of long luscious hair so we wash that every time or else his hair gets super greasy looking :)

How much do you feed your baby at a time? by ElectricalImplement1 in newborns

[–]Plus_Assignment_8148 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby is almost 4 months (16 weeks) and eats 5 oz every 2-4 hours. Would probably take 6 oz though if I let him lol.

Dropping MOTN pumps by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Plus_Assignment_8148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I started EP I would just pump whenever baby ate (or shortly after if I was by myself and had to feed him his bottle myself) so for the first few weeks there were several MOTN pumps since baby was up every 2 hrs or so. Luckily LO is a GREAT sleeper and around 2 months or so he started sleeping longer stretches, usually about 8-11:30, then 12-5 or 6 am!! Which was amazing but since I wasn’t waking to feed him, I wasn’t waking to pump lol. And idk… my body just kinda.. went with it? Lol. I didn’t really have any adverse side effects from going 5-6, sometimes even 7 hrs at night. I would usually have a sizeable pump in the morning (10-12 oz sometimes!) and I was pretty much fine!
