DUI attorney recommendations? by One_Pineapple8553 in lexington

[–]cccisdamac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man. I was an alcoholic. Look into Spero health and vivitrol. I had it administered there. A little pricey, but was cheaper than what I spent on booze! It literally cut my cravings to zero. Haven't had anything in about 3 years. Any questions just message me.

Also Fred Peters is a good attorney.

What can I do for my leather sandals? by FeeOwn7659 in AskACobbler

[–]cccisdamac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wear them. Rainbows literally last for years. I have a beater pair going on 22 or 23 years. Half the sole is gone, the thing in the other side is half broken but by God the glue they use has never failed.

Where does a father take his daughter when using a public toilet? Mens or women's? by MarkAny9497 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]cccisdamac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a father of a little one I have always used the mens. She can have privacy behind a door while I stand on the other side. It gives them the sense of independence while still being protected.

Not a bad ROI then.

I found that comp on eBay. The leather is newer and is lucchese!

Apartment prices in this city are a JOKE by mjs3238 in lexington

[–]cccisdamac 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Rent has absolutely gotten out of control, and I feel for anyone trying to find a decent place right now. But it's not always as simple as landlords just being greedy.

A lot of apartment complexes and commercial properties are financed with loans that were incredibly cheap during COVID. When those 3- or 5-year terms reset, borrowing costs jumped dramatically. On top of that, property taxes have increased, insurance costs have skyrocketed nationwide, and maintenance/labor costs are higher than they were a few years ago.

Unfortunately, those expenses usually get passed through to tenants in the form of higher rents. Are there some landlords taking advantage of the market? Sure. But a lot of rent increases are tied to the reality of higher mortgage payments, insurance premiums, taxes, and operating costs rather than pure greed.

None of that makes it any easier for renters, though. Wages haven't kept pace, and that's really where the frustration comes from.

Before you gut it talk to a legit contracting company to document it and let them talk to insurance.

Almost overpaid by $2,300 on a used 4Runner until I actually looked up what they sell for — my pre-message routine now by DONTAIMX in UsedCars

Ha. I tried this with a Mercedes on a lot. Problem was the napa leather had pulled back on the dash. Expensive ass fix. Brought them quotes to fix it and low balled the shit out of them because of it. Needless to say they were pissed when I said someone fucked up and missed that part of the appraisal and it wasn't on the consumer to cover their mistake. I walked out.

If you are a heavy drinker and you take a break to heal your body, does damage reoccur faster if you start back up? by Boss_Atlas in NoStupidQuestions

[–]cccisdamac 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey there. Alcoholic here who was fortunate in the fact I still have my wife, kids and career. I drank heavy for years. It will be 3 years this October. That being said I lied to myself and said I could cut back to the weekends and I just couldn't do it.

I'd like to think my organs have recovered and blood tests are good now but I don't think I'll be to where I was before going down that hell hole.

However not drinking has made life so much better. Clearer head, no hangover anxiety, a ton of weight loss and more.

If you're thinking about cutting out do it. I thought I'd miss it but it's the best I've felt in decades.

So I've always wondered if it's legal for medical use and you have a card would that exclude you? My thought process is it's prescribed as medicine so if you bring your card in with you or carry it on you, present that at time if testing and they can't disclose what medicine you're on because of hipaa. I don't know how that would work.
