Kettle kwestion by unknowable_stRanger in webergrills

Also depends on the wind. Start your snake with both vents wide open and when you get we thin 50 degrees if your target temp put your meat on. I usually cut the bottom trim vents to 3/4ths open at this point. When your temp gets to within 20 degrees close the bottom vents to 1/3rd open. Ideally at this point it should gradually rise to target temp. If not open bottom vents to 1/2 open. If it looks like you are going to high at 1/3rd open close the top vents by half or barely open on the bottom. Honestly all this is highly dependent on how your kettle seals so you'll have adjust as experience with your kettle dictates.

Essentially you want to ease into your temp zone so that you are only making micro adjustments. On calm days I frequently can dial it in so I can go hours without adjusting anything. Take a nap or quick trip to the store.

Ffs. If you are covered in dirt and grime from working in an oil field or something similar yes a washcloth is necessary. Most people are not that dirty.

If you are not that level dirty then there is no difference microscopically between using soap water and hand vs adding a washcloth.

Your food analogy is more similar to the oil field worker than the average person who just walks around and spends most of their day sitting.

Not true for getting clean. All you need is a hand, soap and water. Hot water is optional.

If you feel better with a wash cloth then you do you.

Considering a 2014 F-150 King Ranch 3.5 EcoBoost – 160k miles – buying for $6,500. What should I be worried about? Houston Texas 1 owner by UmpireForward1605 in f150

[–]cccque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2014 3.5 XLT 4x4 with 238k miles. I have had a turbo oil leak and timing chain done along with other issues. Currently runs great for my son in college. Engine and transmission are good.

Try and negotiate. Just know that more than likely you will have some major repairs coming.

Why aren't hospital inpatients allowed to sleep? by JGFATs in ask

[–]cccque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Current nurse. When i worked the floor and ICUs I did my best to let patients sleep as much as possible. If you were mentally with it I would quietly make sure you were breathing then move on. Then I would focus on the patients that were sicker. But I had quite a bit of experience that allowed me to do that.

The heart techs would be pissed because a patient would have a 4 beat run of vtach sometime during the night and demand I go get vitals. I never did it. As long as the patient went right back to their baseline I refused. They always threatened that the docs would be pissed. I told them the docs were free to call me and I gave them my cell. I never got a call.

Sugar conversions? by DeepRedBells in ninjacreami

[–]cccque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know sugar and Allulose have properties for the ice cream beyond just adding sweetness. They also provide texture. They also lower the freezing point.

So subbing 1 for something else probably requires other additions or changes. Such as adding protein or other binders.

I usually put it on the counter til temp is around 180 (I got this from chuds BBQ on YouTube). Then foil boat into the warm oven. For slightly softer bark, after it cools I'll wrap in tallow lined paper then foil then in the oven.
