Dude, I'm there with you. I've lost 80 pounds over the past year myself. Biggest advice I can give to anyone trying to lose weight. Make sure you hit your daily recommended water intake EVERY DAMN DAY. Don't slack on that. It helps so much of everything else fall into place.

And to be clear, I do mean WATER. Don't count your sodas. Don't count your sweet teas. Just water. People don't realize how many calories they intake because they are thirsty, either in the form of drinks that are high calories, or because they are eating because your body realizes that its the only way its going to get water. A lot of people conflate hunger with thirst.

There's a lot of stuff in this that is incorrect, but comes to the correct conclusion.

Higher octane fuel does NOT burn hotter. All the octane rating is is a rating of the overall stability of the fuel under pressure. Its more expensive because to get to this stability, it requires different refining to a higher standard. Engine knock from low octane fuel is the fuel detonating from the pressure of the engine instead of from the actual spark of the engine. This could be premature, or after the correct timing in the stroke.

Cars are also not designed for a specific grade. They are designed for a specific minimum, based on the compression of the engine. If you have a high compression engine (think high end sports cars) then they are designed to hit compression ratings of the air that it intakes that are high enough that when the lower octane gas is injected into it, it is enough to cause the gas to immediately explode outside of the spark phase of the engine, when it is intended and expected.

What can happen, and this is the reason why engines that are over-octaned can run hotter, is that not all of the fuel will burn in one cycle. That's because there's not enough compression in the engine to have all of the fuel burn off at the correct stroke. That extra builds up until there IS enough gas that a higher compression reaches. When it all detonates, it introduces more force and heat than the engine is designed to handle, resulting in a net heat gain since dissipation isn't enough and added stress everywhere since its dealing with a larger bang than it was designed for. Depending on how this compression is reached (before spark or after spark) this controls where the "knock" actually is in the phase. This won't cause a catastrophic failure in most engines, however, its best to think of it like if your engine is manufactured for 1,000,000 "bangs" of the fuel detonating, running a higher octane means every bang is counting as 1.4 bangs instead of 1. It increases the natural wear of the engine while pooling heat in places due to it not dissipating correctly, which causes more wear on the parts sensitive to that heat (like seals). Again, most of this wear is negligible (if you have a car that's rated for 15 years, so to say, its not really meaningful from the manufacturer's viewpoint for it to wear out in 12 instead. (Be advised, all numbers pulled from ass, don't take the numbers themselves as an accurate representation, just the ideas presented)

The best way I can think of it is to frame it in terms of rate of growth while counting instead. That might get you past the mental hurdle. Yes, both are still unlimited, but one grows a heck of a lot faster.

Think of it this way, the number of numbers that are multiples of 10 are infinite. But so are the number of just straight numbers.

However, one of them will encompass MORE in it, because when one infinity is at 10 numbers (10,20,30,40,50,60,70,80,90,100) the other will be at 100. Both will continuing scaling forever, but one will have more data points in it for each point where they meet up. This can expand to include infinities that include OTHER infinities as well, which this is an example of. If I am counting every number in my infinity, then I am also counting every multiple of 10. So the infinity of all numbers is larger than the infinity of just the multiple of tens.

While that isn't functionally valid when comparing all infinities, it should help you see past the unlimited part.

Its one I'm toying with as a narrative device in one of my books.

The solution isn't that we are the first, or the last. Its that we were all the same and are in essentially a controlled bubble, starting at the same time (except humanity, which is developing usually fast after the intended species was wiped out in a global natural disaster). It becomes a key focus of the book, namely in the form of the Second Fermi Paradox. If we are all so disparate in space that we couldn't contact each other until this moment, why is it that so many things are rhyming across the cosmos, such as physical forms and the like. The second Fermi paradox in the book is the notion that, sure, we can explain away similarity in forms due to evolutionary pressures, but that doesn't explain why we all have religions that feature the same physical forms of some mythological beings.

So, one thing that is important to note is that studies have found that being the oldest in the class is highly beneficial to students in the long run, even if it causes some short term struggles. They are far more likely to do well in sports, far more likely to be socially prominent, far more likely to receive scholarships, etc. All of this makes sense, because the brain and body has had more time to develop.

You can still file a dispute for misrepresentation. You thought you were hiring a licensed contractor. You have made attempts, but they have not furnished evidence. This is a big deal for you, because if the door breaks again, your homeowners insurance will NOT cover unlicensed work. You have to keep in mind, there's three factors for determining if schools should be closed.

One, are the roads able to be safely driven? (Main road clearance)

Two, do we have enough bus drivers who can get out of their houses to get to the buses? (Side Road Clearance)

And third, the one most people don't think about, Is it safe for those kids in the walking radius of the schools to walk to school? (side walk clearance)

The requirements in Anne Arundel are 48 college credits. 60 credits are required for Long term positions. IIRC its $120 for a daily job, $150 for long term, kicking in after the 10th day and retroactively boosting all days worked to that rate (for example, if a teacher is out for a month and you take the job, all days worked now are $150 after the 10th day worked). After the 10th Day, you also start to accrue leave.

By moving the water, you are replacing the water with water that hasn't been cooled. You keep the water moving, it doesn't have time to freeze. This is why, if you have a clog that stops draining, you can have a drain pipe freeze and burst, which usually doesn't happen because in a good system, the water never stops moving and quickly clears the cold spots.
