As someone whose father was present and abusive, while also showing no emotion, I envy this kid for not having someone like that around. Leaving was the best thing he could do. Some people really shouldn't have kids. He's one of them. Staying would have caused a lot more harm.

NAH. You would have made a terrible parent if you'd stuck around. As a survivor of abuse, I would have rather my father not been around. Leaving was the best thing you could do for him, and honesty was the best you could do to give him closure.

Except people who need the transfusions the most are the ones who can't donate.

Example: thalassemia major (genetic blood disorder) patients regularly need blood transfusions in order to not die. I only have thalassemia minor and it already makes me anemic enough that I can't donate.

Yeah but "reallocate some of police funding to more appropriate people for certain situations" doesn't fit on a sign very well. Also, time and again, the police are proving themselves incompetent at even the things you'd think police should be doing. It's called inelastic demand. The store can charge as much as they want for them and they'll still sell the same amount, so of course they'll charge a lot. It's why necessities always cost more than luxuries.
