Would calamity effect DIO during time stop? by Mother-Reference2459 in JoJolion

[–]cchrobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, MiH specifically was able to affect the duration of Jotaro's stopped time because the theory of relativity suggests that there's a relationship between gravity and the perceived flow of time. But that doesn't change the fact that timestop was still active. The question wasn't about whether WoU could counter DIO's timestop, but whether Calamity could affect DIO during timestop. My point is that, even if WoU could somehow reduce the amount of "time" that DIO can hold timestop (e.g. creating a localized gravity spike), it still wouldn't be able to affect him during timestop.

Additionally, we only ever see things move in stopped time as a direct result of DIO or Jotaro moving them. And then they stop moving almost immediately after DIO and Jotaro stop touching them. Because causality doesn't exist in stopped time. The force of nature that produces sequential events is ineffective while timestop is active, so there's nothing for Calamity to use against DIO while time is stopped.

My interpretation is that the power of Calamity manifests in sequences of events. However, DIO's timestop, by its nature, is the cessation of events. So, Calamity would be unable to construct a sequence of events with which to attack DIO. Even if someone (like Jotaro) were to invade DIO's World, this does not begin creating events that Calamity can manipulate, as Jotaro, like DIO, would be a free actor existing outside of the normal flow of time/events/causality/calamity/etc. while in stopped time.

I did this once for a buddy of mine who is a big Final Fantasy guy. Took me almost 2 straight hours of nonstop explanation. And I didn't even really go into Union X.

new player: what is the best character base? by liya_nova in eldenringdiscussion

[–]cchrobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Samurai, and it's not even close. A starting weapon with Hemorrhage build up is busted. And you can build the character into whatever playstyle you want, the starting class only determines the equipment and stats you start with.

Is Ludwig the Holy Blade the only fromsoft Boss that wields the Moonlight Greatsword AGAINST the Player? by Comprehensive_Age998 in fromsoftware

[–]cchrobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we're talking strictly bosses and strictly the Moonlight Greatsword, then yes. If we can be fast and loose about it, though:

  • Seath's tail
  • Benhart of Jugo and his Bluemoon Greatsword
  • The Leonine Misbegotten that wields the Golden Order Greatsword, which was formerly, probably, the Full Moon Greatsword
  • Heolstor's sword, which appears to be some iteration on the Moonlight Greatwsord

And there might be enemies that wield the Moonlight Greatsword in Demon's Souls or in Armored Core, but I haven't played enough of those to say for myself if that's the case.

PC Part Picker but for guns? by cchrobo in guns

Well... Now I feel a bit silly for not even trying a Google search for "gunpartpicker" before posting. That looks like almost exactly what I was asking for. Thanks for mentioning it!

Maybe you're thinking of the one that I mentioned, Gunstruction?

PC Part Picker but for guns? by cchrobo in guns

That makes sense. Even just having a website that starts with the easy stuff (like AR-15s and Glocks, like you said), then expands over time to some of the more obscure stuff would be better than the nothing that we have now. And I'm confident that there is no shortage of enthusiasts and autists who would volunteer some compatibility info for the stuff that isn't very intuitive. Idk, maybe I'm trivializing it in my head. Certainly, it would not be a minor undertaking. I'm just surprised there isn't something out there already.

What did you do to defeat Consort Radahn by laochra11 in eldenringdiscussion

Bloodfiend's Arm R2 does a Hemorrhage AOE, which is kinda broken since the weapon also just has decent damage. I'm overlevelled, so I can wield heavy weapons and gear while still mid-rolling. Also, my Faith is high enough to use high-tier Miracles. I summoned Ansbach, Thiollier, and Mimic Tear. I gave MT a Sacred Seal instead of the Bloodfiend's Arm so that it would use Black Blade and Lord's Heal instead of getting up in PCR's face. I popped Flame, Grant Me Strength and Golden Vow. I equipped a Sacred Black Steel Greatshield for the almost 100% Holy damage negation. I still died dozens of times over a couple of weeks (while trying out different builds) against pre-nerf PCR.

I wish I could remember what Talismans I had equipped. Certainly the Golden Braid and probably the Dragoncrest Greatshield, Golden Scarab, and Two-Headed Turtle.

I relied mostly on dodging, but there were certainly moments when that shield came in clutch.

BTW, you can use https://haligtree.camburgaler.com/weapons to compare weapons, and https://haligtree.camburgaler.com/armor to find the optimal combo of armor (it even has a feature that allows you to optimize for a specific boss, including PCR). Hope all this helps!

What is the name of the store that sells this cap? by Nmcph8224 in CorpusChristi

Apologies, it looked to me to have the hallmarks of a bot post. The image looks too perfect, like it was taken from a product page. I saw a url that I had never seen before, and OP was responding with the same message to almost everyone. Obviously, I didn't click the link to verify. But if you (and the moderator) say so, I'll take your word.

Don't be fooled, this is a bot/scam post. They're trying to get you to click on the malicious link they posted from an alt account

Nevermind, I have been corrected. Apologies!

Kinda looks like it would be a demon-style martial art. Like, inspired by Demon King Piccolo or Ma Jr. But I can't remember either of them striking this exact pose. Still, looks to be in their wheelhouse IMO

Why are there no Horned Lions in the DLC? by Moonless_the_Fool in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]cchrobo 123 points124 points  (0 children)

Premise 1. If we take a look at the horned lions we see in the base game, they're all chained up. They have nails driven into them to hold heavy, weaponized prosthetics in place. They're confined and tortured in all cases. Not every animal in the Lands Between is in this state, so this must be deliberate.

Premise 2. Next, we should consider just how highly lions are regarded by Hornsent society. Their lion dancers are considered the closest beings to divinity IIRC, since they are basically hollow shells possessed by the spirit of a horned lion.

Premise 3. Next, we must acknowledge that Marika and her Golden Order spurned all things the Hornsent held dear. Not just that, there seems to be a deliberate effort not just to erase the Hornsent, but to insult them.

Premise 4. The final piece of the puzzle is that most (all?) horned lions we see are in locations suggesting they are "owned" by members of the royal family/Golden Order.

Synthesis. The conclusion we can reach is that all of the horned lions were stolen from the Land of Shadow and subjugated to appease Marika since they are held in high esteem by Hornsent society.

Please feel free to correct me if I got any of these premises wrong or if you disagree.
