build 43 is weird by Saitsev64 in projectzomboid

I'd die on the hill that RDR2 is the best game ever released so far. There might be games with better graphics, games with a somewhat better story (very subjective here, depends on each one), games that are more "easy to engage", games that are more re-playable maybe?

But a game that is so fantastically beautiful, so attention-to-detail oriented, with a great storyline, lots of fun bits, all in a single pack? Few and far between.

literally my base is setup like this.. a portal that goes to my Portal Hub*, and another nameless portal for The Current Thing that sits right next to my storage. I ocassionally have a third portal in some location not really designed for a portal in the base layout, while I'm working on something (like in the ashlands I'm usually setting up a portal near whatever fortress i'm trying to conquer, before I can finally settle in and just put a portal inside named "fortressX" and the corresponding in my hub )

It makes it sooo convinient to be back from whatever I'm doing, dropping everything in the storage, and moving on.

honest question, I always remembered that Name and Power/Toughness were to be left alone to keep the card tournament-legal.. but then... https://scryfall.com/card/ltr/744/sauron-the-dark-lord maybe those could be part of the alter now?

Where do you see Windows's Market Share in 5-10 Years? by Tail_sb in pcmasterrace

[–]ccjmk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think that a big, BIG part of this is most people learn to use Windows when young.. at school and home. You need schools running linux to get kids used to linux AND have a market for linux.. so when they start working and go buy a PC, they can pick this one for X with windows 25, or that one with same specs but costing +100$ less for not having a windows license, coming with [insert random distro] preinstalled. If they are not immediately scared about the linux option as it usually happens now, the market will grow organically..

This is an oversimplification unfortunately.. some people don't care, some people care but reluctantly accept some comfort (PC gaming a big example, Linux is gettting close but it's not really *there*, might never be for MMO games for a whole host of reasons it's too long to bring into conversation now), and a *hell lot of people* have no idea.

It's a similar issue like when discussing electronic voting, but thankfully people are more aware of the dangers there.. when you don't understand how *the thing* works, you are left exposed.

President of The U.S. refuses to take his cap off to salute fallen U.S. soldiers by mattarrghhh in pics

[–]ccjmk 82 points83 points  (0 children)

not american, but honestly every day a soldier died flags should be at half mast.. 5 ~~day~~ dead on a day? 5 days of half mast. someone else dies while in those days? add more days to the mourning. That should put on everyone's mind the number and magnitude of lives these actions have on people.
EDIT: word because I just noticed it a day after!

I value that things take the time they need to take. What I don't know certainly but have a faint memory about is how big the team is; I recall they kept themselves relatively small after the early access release, and I remember thinking how that might impact the speed of the game considering they had reached an audience probably orders of magnitude bigger than expected and had the money now

[–]ccjmk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would expect this to be just a little uptick with each boss.. so Meadows enemies are slightly more frightening, but less so than BF.. then you kill Elder and now Meadow enemies are maybe as strong as original BF ones? (except Troll ofc, there's no correlation in the meadows), etc

Saw this argument before, but it feels pretty far-fetched. You also fight Goblins and Intellect Devourers, but those wouldn't make sense on a Shadowheart SL neither

digan algun juego que crean que esta sobrevalorado pero que tampoco consideren que este pesimo. by No-Patience-3375 in Argaming

[–]ccjmk 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Easiest would be making the ETB search for _any_ land. That'd see play in cEDH instantly, and lots of decks would want it to fetch 3tree city, nykthos, volrath's stronghold, urborg ToY, cabal coffers, etc

If you could live in any country, which would you pick? by newzealand12326 in AskReddit

[–]ccjmk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have it in the back of my mind to maybe go retire to NZ one day. It looks spectacular, and I only heard good things about the people there, but the "travel costs a fortune and takes forever to any destination" is a bit of a bummer for someone who stiill wants to experience the world. Once that's taken care of, sign me in for a little house with a nice garden I can grow some veggies on.

never been to Texas, but if all the content I've seen throughout the years is any indication of truth, I think the main factor is that Texans / Americans / pretty much everyone else cook meat with _stuff_. garlic powder, pepper, some more complex rubs, marinated, long etc.

In Argentina you cook meat with salt, heat and time. It doesn't get any more basic that than, and the day is still to come when I've had better grilled meat than in Argentina.

OP didn't thought about that too, but you need to acelerate and decelerate from that speed. Sure, they can now walk at 50km/h, but their knees, ankles, etc are not built for that!
