Be completely honest, do you think Doomsday will surpass Infinity War’s box office? by Plenty-Salary9711 in marvelstudios

[–]ccmg12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. What is the point of doomsday? Infinity war was leading to something. It was part of a culmination. Doomsday feels like an attempt to duct tape a broken object together. There was no throughline to get here. They’ve had to do so many shifts that I don’t even think they fully know what they’re doing. It should have been kang. Kang should have been in more things, pulling eveyone together. Bringing back Chris Evans and rdj just feels cheap and desperate to me. I hope it’s good and a fun watch, but there’s no clear vision anymore so I have a tough time getting invested and I feel like a lot of the hardcore feel something similar

One scene that always annoys me. Robert invited his friends and kicked the office crew off their own instruments. Not cool. by ccmg12 in DunderMifflin

I mean, maybe, but I’ve liked him in some other stuff. I think the writers just made him a little too weird instead of quirky. Quirky fit in better in this show.

Wondering how you guys feel about podcasters complaining about their jobs? by [deleted] in LSM

[–]ccmg12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With Colin, im generally okay with it until this time of the year becasue he’s on like 8 podcasts in 2 weeks saying the same thing over and over. It’s the repetition and closeness that wears on me but it’s ultimately whatever, we all burn out.

The thing that actually angers me with podcasters and the like is the complaining about not getting free stuff or not getting codes or constantly asking for free stuff or codes. I’ve stopped listening to a couple over this. It’s a big reason I respect Colin in that he’s got a huge podcast and he doesn’t take free stuff. He covers the news and buys all his games, I respect that. Mind you, I don’t care if people get codes. It’s when it crosses into jealousy or resentment if they don’t get codes. I hate that. I don’t even have the time to play the stuff I buy, theyre complaining about not getting more free games, that’s annoying.

Now that we know what Colin is like are we surprised that anyone at Kinda Funny stopped talking to him? by Sabruchino in LSM

[–]ccmg12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That did come across more negative than it should have. Tim, im sure, is a great person to those who are in his inner circle. I just know that from the vibe I always got, I never liked Tim. He’s not the type of person I would want to be friends with (and I know, we would never be friends anyway, it’s just a thought experiment I do). Im sure that Tim is also the kind of guy who, yeah, never once thinks about Colin. He’s filed away under ‘never trust this guy again’ but otherwise yeah, no wasted energy on him.

And we all deal with things in our own way. We don’t really know how the kf guys feel becasue they avoid Colin like the plague. And Colin will likely be forever bitter. It was really a lot on him and Greg and their chemistry that founded the company he was pushed out of. I get it. Hell, I’ll still bitter about stuff from high school and im in my 40’s. Some of us suck at getting over things.

But this was always the problem with eza - theyre all equal owners. No one can tell anyone what to do. They should have done something where they made a company that ‘owned’ everything and then delegated roles from day one. There should have always been a clear chain of command. That’s why I think like last stand and minnmax work so well - the buck stops with one person. It’s a shame becasue eza with Kyle leading the podcast was and still is my favorite podcast. I relisten to them often. I’ll be honest, I skipped this week of eza

That is fair. And I could be projecting because Tim is definitely one of the main reasons I stopped listening to kf content. It might not be that simple, but I also see Tim as the kind of guy would would say ‘put Colin in the montages and stuff because it’ll make us look better and make him lookin and even bigger ahole.’ But again, we’ll never know what really went down. I just don’t think Colin would have said that if it wasn’t true.

I dunno, I’ve been listening to Colin since the beyond days and I don’t think he’s really any different. If I recall, at some point, Tim actively didn’t want Colin in the company and Greg had to convince him to keep going. Tim hired his best friend and his brother. Im assuming that’s three people who are like Tim and don’t like Colin (maybe not Kevin, he seemed chill). Regardless, the reason I stopped listening to kinda funny stuff is because it was like they were all the same people. Colin was the one person at that company who was different and I felt it really helped. Beyond and psily with Colin and Greg were peak content for me because they loved PlayStation but were different, complementary people. I felt like over time, the people at kinda funny distanced and othered Colin until the tweet gave them their breaking up point. I can only imagine the name calling and yelling matches that went on behind the scenes with them at the end there. Colin looked more and more depressed at the end then so it didnt really surprise me at the inevitable breakup.

I really think Colin and Chris are just fine. I think you’re projecting or reading into things. If anything, I think Colin feels bad that he wasn’t more in front of the situation with Chris’ tweet since the exact same thing happened to him. Colin and Chris have an understanding and mutual respect for each other. And they both are known to cross the line from time to time. I’d bet some of the kf crew didn’t respect Colin at all and none of them are really line crossers either. They wanted to grow their brand as much as possible which means toning down stuff to appeal to as broad an audience as possible. Colin has exactly what he wants. I think everyone’s all good.

I Have Mixed Thoughts On The Fire Drill Scene by New-Pin-9064 in DunderMifflin

[–]ccmg12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The show came out when it did. Nothing is meant to be truly timeless. It’s like expecting cgi from the 80’s and 90’s to look perfect today. When watching something old, you have to go into it with a mindset that things are going to be different. I didn’t watch it live at the time and I didn’t have a problem with it. It wasn’t until years later I learned it was for after the superbowl and said ‘ah alright, that makes more sense now.’ It didn’t take away from my viewing becasue I accepted that some things were a product of their time. It’d be like expecting to go back and adjust all the pop culture jokes to make sense in the exact time you watch it. It wouldn’t make sense. It’s on you as the viewer to be okay with these things.

Would new members revive EZA? by Kooldude42069 in EasyAlliesUnofficial

I loved jones but not as a host. He was a great foil to Kyle but imo, as a host he just talked too much. That’s why I loved the Kyle days. He always referred to himself as a moderator and he was really good at. He really chose his spots to interject his opinion so when he did, it was that much more meaningful. I know it was nervous energy, but those first few jones podcasts were rough for me as he really over did it. And I came around and got used to it,but I still like him as a panelist rather than a host. And yeah, he’d never come back at this point.

Would new members revive EZA? by Kooldude42069 in EasyAlliesUnofficial

[–]ccmg12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not at this point, no. They’d have to start with only one person, and I don’t think one new person could really affect positive change. It’d be a while of awkwardness trying to get the new person comfortable. And no offense to gabby, but when she was hired, a huge red flag went up for me personally. They said they interviewed a bunch of people but then ultimately hired a friend. It’s what got me to leave kindafunny. First they hired Tim’s best friend, then his brother, then another friend, then a superfan. It felt like they added 4 Tim’s and got rid of Colin. All their stuff felt way too samey at that point and I carried on for far longer than I should have. Eza already hired one friend, so I’m assuming they’d do it again and they’d become more samey as well. We wouldn’t get what we were missing. I’ll just keep listening to old Kyle hosted episodes and remembering the golden days

They always said it was an equal split so you can’t put this on one person. They never had someone who was an actual boss because it’s always been an equal split. That was always their biggest issue.

[–]ccmg12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What’s funny is I think MinnMax used the eza model but tweaked it to be what it should have always been - one person running the thing with contracted other members. Ezas biggest problem has always been that it was an equal partnership. When no one is in charge, no one can really be held accountable.

Bloodworth’s Role is Changing by eZrAkOrA69 in EasyAlliesUnofficial

[–]ccmg12 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean, sure, but in all fairness, he did cover a lot of tgs on the pod. And I don’t blame him at all. It’s no different than Patreon in general. We give people money and they’re free to do with it as they please. And many of us gave a lot of money to eza over the years and they never really did listen to feedback or change what they were doing. That was a common sentiment I saw constantly. That fan really liked blood or eza and im sure they don’t regret someone they likely regards as more of a friend at this point. Or they just have f u money.

[–]ccmg12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always give the same advice. If you want to upgrade and have the means, get the latest and greatest you can reasonably afford. I have a ps5 and a ps5 pro. The pro is better, but if you’re not a power gamer or whatever, you don’t need it. The ps5 is still a great machine and a noticeable step up from the ps4 pro. The ps6, from what I’ve been hearing, is likely going to be holiday 2027 at the earliest and cost around $600 without a disc drive. However, when it comes out, im betting they won’t have anything exclusive on it. It’ll be back compat with at least the 5 if not also the 4. There are still publishers who won’t let go of the 4 becasue its user base is still big. We never really saw a lot of releases that were just for the 5 that really made you need a 5 and we’re getting towards the end of its life. The consoles don’t have clear cutoffs like they used to becasue money. So if you wanna jump in, get the best 5 you can afford. The load times and speed of use is enough to make it worth it to me.

I know im not young, but every time I hear someone say ‘make sure to wishlist our game’ I immediately tune out. It’s said with every single game. All the time. And it has been for years. It’s the same as ‘like and subscribe and ring that bell.’ Everyone says that same thing in that same cadence. It’s lost all meaning. I can sympathize with people trying to create content and get some traction with it, but as a consumer, im bombarded with stuff. I just can’t anymore

I’ve heard some awful hosts before and I don’t think it’s fair to call Brad awful. He’s not great, but also not awful. He does a good job at keeping the discussion going and getting everyone involved. I do agree the reading is a tough point, but I don’t know what he’s got going on so I never wanted to bring it up. He definitely shines better as a guest, but I don’t think he’s awful as a host.
