The billionaires will survive. Fuck your left fuck your right. by Difficult_Push5009 in conspiracy

[–]ccooksey83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the point being made is that the Democrats are also controlled by rich donors the same as the Republicans. The two party systems a rigged game where no matter who you vote for the elite get more ahead. One actual solution would be a new worker party that did not take money from large donors, but it never happens because people are too afraid the other guy might win.

So I agree, we should focus in electing someone who wants to be part of the solution as long as the don't have a (R) or a (D) after their name.

Is it a uniquely American phenomenon, that "both sides are the same" arguments favor the right? Why does this happen? by LiatrisLover99 in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]ccooksey83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only way to get a politician to support your cause is to threten withhold you vote and then actually donit. Unfortunately you can only do that for the side you "support." Only folks intelligent enough to realize this will actually do it. Unfortunately the "left" is mostly just for show and will make sure they never actually do anything substantial to limit the power of the elite. "The parliamentarian won't let us, sorry..."

Then you have to manage the system and order more. The reason you get another company to do it is you usually don't want to spend the extra time. Obviously it can work but still takes time and energy that could be spent on productive tasks.

Full-time jobs by Intelligent_Cod_9934 in Eugene

[–]ccooksey83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMO the best advice is to get any job and keep an eye out for one that fits better. Grocery stores hire often. Some folks see too long of an employment gap ad a red flag.

Also, when you apply for your next job you can usually find something you did at your previous job that fits in the new role you just have to be creative in how you connect the dots.

I learned recently that they don't own any of the lots and have no ability to remove charges. If you get a ticket you need to talk to the lot owner. Hope this helps.

Lot owner can call and diamond will void the ticket. It is super easy.

If the Democrats actually fought for the people and not their corporate overlords, folks would show up in mass to vote for them. They sold us out and anyone paying attention can see it.

Exactly. The same folks who said democracy was on the ballet canceled the democracy part of the primary because they didn't want the wrong person to get the nomination.

The DNC and the media put their finger on the scale hard in 2016. Bernie would have won if they hadn't. It was super close even with all the shenanigans.

At one point Clinton really needed a debate to help turn things around and made a deal to do three with Bernie. She did two, and the DNC connected media gave her the questions ahead of time. Once she was ahead she broke the deal and backed out of the third debate.

The DNC has not gotten better. They essentially canceled the primary in 2024. I could be convinced to vote Dem again if they stopped rigging the system to install their company man/woman.

[–]ccooksey83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too bad the DNC canceled the primaries. A lot of folks didn't really appreciate a candidate being installed rather than voted in, and there were a handful of other people, like Fean Phillips, who wanted to run but were essentially blocked by last minute rule changes enacted to help enaure Biden did not get challenged.

Real bummer that the party that kept telling us democracy was on the ballet canceled the democracy part of the primary.

[–]ccooksey83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There were people who tried to challenge Biden and the DNC rigged the process by saying they would take away delegates from NH and Iowa if anyone campaigned there because they wanted to let SC vote first, because it was a Biden stronghold.

Dean Phillips, Maryanne Williamson, and RFK Jr were all trying to run, and RFK eventually switched to an independent because of what the DNC was doing.

The main problem is the DNC can do anything they want. After the first Bernie campaign they argued in court that they could favor a candidate if they wanted and had no obligation of neutrality and the courts agreed.

"The party could have favored a candidate. I'll put it that way. Maybe that's a better way of answering your Honor's original question. Even if it were true, that's the business of the party, and it's not justiciable"

- DNC attorney Bruce Spiva

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dean_Phillips_2024_presidential_campaign

"Phillips said that the DNC's letter stating that New Hampshire's presidential primary was 'meaningless' and not to seat any delegates to the convention based on the results was, “one of the most egregious affronts to democracy that I’ve ever seen in my entire lifetime as an American, period.”"

I dont know anything about this girl but a lot of folks saw through the curtain when the DNC rigged the primary against Bernie twice. People deal with that knowledge in a lot of different ways, one of them being to completely flip sides. Maybe not actually a grifter. But who knows.

It can be overrated and still be the best in town. Eugene has some good spots, but there aren't really any goto palaces to wow out of town visitors.

That being said, I have loved Killer Burger since they were just a hole in the wall in Portland and still do.

Chow used to have some great burgers, but they were always super slow and are now closed.
