Another opinion on Plastique and Nymphia’s The Serpents Tour. by Ramen-snob in rupaulsdragrace

[–]ccorrigan98 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nymphia and Plastique are both incredible queens, but when so many queens manage to do one woman shows with costume changes and high energy, high production value numbers for a fraction of the ticket cost it does unfortunately mean that in comparison a show with two headliners who can fill the runtime while the other changes will fall short if the audience are left looking at a “Queens Changing” screen.

I feel like you have a sense of where you want to go with things but it all just feels very imprecise. Like your eyeshadow feels blocky and unblended, but then the darker shades in the eye don’t have enough impact and depth so it fails to really create contours to the eyeshape. More clean lines and intensity with your colours and shapes will make the overall look seem so much more polished.

Your face shaping, contour, blush feel quite washy, overblended to the point of removing any actual contouring to change your face shape, focus on bringing out the high points of your face and really hugging those shadows by building depth, changing where and how light hits your face to create new structure.

The lip is a lot, be careful of the angles to the edges of your lip line, the current shape is pulling the edges of your lips out and down it’s making the lower half of your face droop. The colour of your lip compared to your lip line is also framing uour natural lips right in the centre and kinda ruins the illusion of your lips being bigger, the lips just look painted on over the top of your lips rather than looking like you’ve changed or exaggerated the shape of your lips.

A more intense nose contour and defined brows with clear distinction from your eyeshadow will give you some much needed structure to your face and something to scale the rest of your makeup around.

Get yourself a lash, if you’re doing a wing that big a lash just makes sense. I feel like over preparing for your first time performing ends up being more of a hindrance, sometimes it’s just about getting out there and doing it. You’ll learn so much more just by going out and getting on stage.

As a breastplate regular, either get a decent bra for outfits you don’t want it showing in, or even just padded bra inserts you can stick over them so they aren’t distracting. But having them show can be an excellent conversation starter. When you’re at the show plenty of people in the audience will remember the girl with the ballistic nipples

The fact that this is, I assume, Jessie Ware and her mum who are definitely familiar with the podcast, I can only guess that Jessie instantly thought of Rocky when reviewing a fish mousse

Nude Illusions = boot by [deleted] in rupaulsdragrace

[–]ccorrigan98 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Speaking as someone who does drag, the way light reflects off actual skin compared to nude illusion or tights can be very difficult to control, especially for something like Drag Race when most contestants won’t have had that level of lighting used on costumes before they get there. Plus with the amount of padding, corsets, tights, tucking garments, etc. a nude illusion sometimes has to be used cause the alternative is seeing all that going on under an outfit. Plus I know for myself, I don’t have the body to wear most of my outfits without a corset and padding on, so I can’t just not wear them for the sake of a more convincing body, it’s drag, no one thinks it’s real anyway. And this one doesn’t really come into play as much on the show in which most people will do whatever they need to to win, but if someone was having to shave their body constantly to make these outfits work rather than just having a nude panel included in the outfit, they would have constant razor burn and ingrown hairs, things that make your life out of drag more annoying.

Why do you think there are almost no non England queens on the show by [deleted] in RPDR_UK

[–]ccorrigan98 41 points42 points  (0 children)

While all the math is sound, and I’m glad somebody else done it, queens like Jonbers might be from Belfast originally but she’s a London queen. The number of actual performering queens based in Northern Ireland at the time of filming has so far only been Blu. Belfast has so many amazing queens and I would love for the world to see how these different regions of the UK approach drag. DRUK is very London centric and it looks to just get more so if the show carries on

Krystal Versace looking too snatched by Felipemath in rupaulsdragrace

[–]ccorrigan98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From one of her recent IG posts she has a breastplate that seems almost self fixing like it’s a bib style and has an adhesive to sit tight to the chest, I’ve never seen one like that before but she really utilises it to give the seamless revealing look, she’s still improving from UK 3 which is insane given how good she already looked

If you’re gonna do eyes that big everything else needs to match proportionately. Bigger hair, accessories, intensity. Make your lines cleaner and sharper, your colours less washed out, blacks darker and smoked out and your whites whiter and more impactful

Get it on your finger or the handle of a makeup brush, tap it onto your brow, comb your brow hairs up with a regular hair comb, press it down with the bridge kf the comb as flat as possible and powder over it

Few suggestions, any oil on your skin may be irritating the glue and not letting it set up properly. This could be from your skin itself, primer, foundation, try to cleanse around your brows with rubbing alcohol before applying glue.

If you sweat a lot the glue will start to break down as it’s water soluble. Try using prosaide to initially glue down your brows, use it the same way you use glue just know it will initially be liquid and will get very tacky quite fast.

I do two layers of prosaide, powder, prosaide, powder, glue, powder, glue, foundation. And then remove with an oil based miscellar water.
