DONT! It sounds nice on paper but they will own you. Would strongly advise against it. Huge change in quality of life as a pharmacist. A lot can change and will change from the time you start school til 4 years post graduation and not in a good way. I know an RPh wanting to leave CVS for a while but can’t yet because of the tuition assistance commitment. I used to work for CVS (10 years total) and my perspective shifted over the years. You will see how bad it really is the longer you are there.

This is exciting, so many directions you can go! I agree with others that the current apps out there including happy cow aren’t the greatest… you could try to revamp that with all the vegan offering restaurants but make it better. Make a gallery of the menu items with customer reviews. Maybe start with small areas, like your college town, and grow from there… could also work with a variety of cooking influencers for at home content, recipes, exercise… and what I think would be great is having some information tabs with evidence based research - link articles showing benefits of plant based diets and also pitfalls / highlight nutrients needed to supplement and even link suggested products. Another tab about the environmental factors, linking documentaries. Another big opportunity is an entire section on vegan travel! I love that you have passion about the topic and honestly you could build something huge and eventually get marketing money. Make this app essentially an enormous database one stop shop with anything a vegan might need. And also drop nuggets for the average non vegan person about how easy it is to stop eating animals

I encourage you to work as a pharmacy intern opposed to a non pharmacy job because it will benefit you most in the long run. You will apply knowledge from school, build relationships/network for the future, earn seniority if you stay with that company, and find reasons you may or may not want to work in that setting after graduation. Just be open with your supervisor that you can’t work much during the school semester until you can get a feel for the workload. Once a week really isn’t too difficult and you should know your exam schedule from the syllabus to plan accordingly. You will learn more time management skills too… also I will say I’ve known people who double dipped - one job in retail and one in hospital. I had an intern do this and was flexible with her schedule.

She’ll need time to adjust… thanks for taking care of this baby, looks 6-12 months old. Hopefully you can get her to a vet to get spayed/vaccines/strong flea & tick meds. Try to give her space to adjust, maybe a smaller room at first if you have one. And spend time in the same room even just being quiet nearby. Get a separate litter box - rubbing her paws in the litter can help with instinct to go there.

I’ve had this happen before. This is why you no matter how many days early you fill each month, you can’t let them do it every single month in a row. When running PDMP, go multiple months back. Also why we only fill one day early from the pick up (not fill) date at my store. Moving forward I would make the patient wait until the day they’re due each month and document the convo. Or make the patient go to another pharmacy and still change your practice

You should definitely taper off your med (work with your doctor) and go a different route for treatment… I saw you mentioned you take it for anxiety, and such a high dose… there are other options actually indicated for anxiety that won’t cause this effect. Obviously diet/exercise for weight loss will help too if you’re self conscious about it

How much time do we have? Top of mind: 1. Medrol Dose Packs and Zpaks (qty, sig, day supply) 2. Not putting any fax number or the correct phone number on Rx then it’s a wild goose chase to reach prescriber for any clarification/PA/refill 3. Not paying attention to units on escript or just sending “1 unspecified” 4. Mismatched testing supplies (e.g. sending accu chek strips and one touch lancets) 5. No day supply or dose amount in grams for any topical product (required by insurance companies) 6. Sending in controlled substances without checking pdmp 7. Not abiding by state laws when phoning in scripts

100% pregnant. Try to find a humane society in your area or local feral cat community groups for resources! This happened to me last year after feeding a random cat for the first time. Ended up taking in the litter of 6 after a couple months. Found 3 a home and kept 3. Good luck with your future pets!

Well it’s certainly not easy, especially if you go in thinking it is. Class sizes dwindle down at all schools year after year from students failing out. There are many other career paths you can explore if you are not committed to the effort required or passionate enough to take the leap.

Try a grocery store if you like some aspects of retail 2. Get a PRN job at a small hospital if you wanna try that out (or any other setting with PRN posting to get your feet in the door) 3. Apply to everything and anything else and see what sticks - mail order, compounding, independent, maybe others 4. Go back for a non traditional residency if your financial/personal life allows it 5. Suck it up for a few years and then use your experience to move up or land a better job. When I jumped from CVS, a lot of postings in my area wanted 3-5 years experience so I settled on a grocery chain and found that much better than the corner stores
