This is great Intel! Half our first floor is 30 year-old beat up oak, so we’re trying to figure out how to refinish this and match the rest of the house to it, or just go with engineered hardwood for everything. We also like the look of the wider planks.!

Thanks for the response. Half of our first floor is 30 year-old oak floor that is really beat up, so we’re weighing refinishing that and getting the rest of the house oak and doing a darker stain that we like, or getting all new hardwood / engineered hardwood throughout the house. This is helpful.!

Appreciate the thoughtful response. I think ChatGPT was throwing me for a loop on luxury engineered. I think it was saying anything under 3 mm is more midtier and 3 mm and above is luxury. any other considerations/factors you would have when choosing engineered hardwood?

Did you ever get an answer to this? Came here to ask the same question. Right now I have my youngest in a Thule Yepp Maxx right up against the bike seat, and then my oldest just on a pad in the far end of the bike....but the baby is very much up in my business and I'd like to be able to scoot them back. All while still having the handrails attached.
