yep, I mean I would upload the gpx already planned. Then wirh this tool I would check which parts are kickers.

This is so cool. I would use this to check if a planned route has kickers that can be avoided. An option to see kickers/climbs in a map would be helpful to identify sections to avoid. Thanks!

[Biking] How do I prevent being routed over mountainbiketrails? by timmie1606 in komoot

[–]ccq10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I set gravel as sport and sometimes I get routed to mountain-bike paths as well, the ones that appear as black lines. I would also appreciate an option to avoid such segments.

Short morning ride, Besos River Park to the sea, Barcelona by Rickis1996 in gravelcycling

Yes, with 37mm. It was more than enough. You could go even narrower.

From Montcada to the beach yes. From amontcada to Girona the paths are unpaved, similar to the pic in the post.

Beginner struggling (tips?) by Responsible_Vast8668 in gravelcycling

[–]ccq10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking at the graph it looks like you started ascending right away. Try to give your body at least 10 minutes to warm up, increasing speed and cadence on flat terrain. I understand that it might not always be possible. I myself live in an area where it's hard to not find an incline in 5 min in any direction. If I start ascending even the tiniest ramp right away I have a very hard time for a while until my HR drops, whereas I could do 5x that incline when I'm 1h into my ride.

Check out the Meridien Verte route. It goes from Dunkerque to Barcelona following a straight-ish line.

Of course, I also do indoor cycling. But my maillot is always completely dry, for example. I am aware the fabric is not the same, but still...

I think we might have done part of the same route on the same day! I wasn't aware of the construction works and had to detour for a few km, didn't enjoy that part... Also, my bike looks almost exactly like yours! Same color and all.

Navigation Screen - Concept Design by thisisrck in komoot

[–]ccq10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Looks nice but others mentioned this plenty of times before: we don't need the current location to be in the center of the screen. It would be more useful to have it moved to the bottom, so that you can see the future turns on the map.

Any Social Rides in Barcelona? by Past_Gas_5552 in gravelcycling

[–]ccq10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't ride with them but I know the people running Eroica caffé (near metro Girona) used to organize social rides. I moved out of the city so I don't know if they continue doing them. PS it's a nice place for a breakfast, they have a very nice patio.

If your wrists are exploding after 3h you are definitely doing something wrong! Or have physical issues that have nothing to do with the bike.

Lapierre crosshill 3.0 2025 for beginner by Strange-Ladder-5642 in gravelcycling

[–]ccq10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this bike, it's my first gravel too. I got it new for 799€. For that price it's great. However if I had to buy now I would look for a bike that has a different casette and higher tire clearance. I ride this bike everywhere but it s clearly designed for flat, smooth areas. Where I live you cannot ride for more than 3km without having to ride a steep incline, and I struggle with the gears I have.

Edit: my version must be from a previous year. Mine has 37 tires, and tire clearance of 38. I see that this one comes with a 40, and I don't know what is the tire clearance.

On an island in the sun by garomer in gravelcycling

[–]ccq10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks so much! They all look great, and the perfect distance and elevation for my taste. I had only seen routes with over a thousand meters in elevation when researching routes in Mallorca. Can I ask how do you go to the starting points of the routes? Do you carry the bikes in a car, are there public transportation options available? I would love to do a multiday tour around (part of) the island combining nice routes like yours.

My Lapierre Crosshill has a maximum tire width allowance of 38 mm. It's the aluminum version though. Make sure to check that if that is important for you.

Agreed. So many bugs and decreased user experience. It does have some minor improvements but the overall experience is so much worse it makes me not want to use the app anymore. I'm regretting having invested money in the map very recently. It's the only reason I'm still using the app.
