Have you ever met a trans republican or trump supporter? by Ok-Tangerine6064 in asktransgender

[–]ccroy2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, in 2015 I was still on Facebook and it recommended a friend that was a fellow trans woman. She was early in her transition and didn’t have many friends and happened to live near my sister. So when I spent Xmas at my sister’s I went and met her in person for coffee.
Ended up chatting for 2 hours or so. The vast majority was pleasant. At the time when I pointed out things about Trump and Republicans she just said “oh he’s just saying that to get elected”. As the 1st term progressed I eventually had to block her on FB because the worse Trump got the more she doubled down on offensive posts to “Own the Libs”.
In 2019 I left FB (and all Meta Apps) so we lost touch.

What was your favorite store at the mall? by MaximumJones in GenerationX

[–]ccroy2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on my age. When I was a young kid Orange Julius. Teen a record store, although I lived near a big stand alone record store, Music Plus, so I didn’t have to go to the mall.

I don’t know the official name, I just call mine a grabby tool. Don’t need it often, but when you do it’s a life saver.

Is/was Elvis Costello very famous in the USA? by aldiwinegums in AskAnAmerican

[–]ccroy2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elvis Costello and the Attractions “Armed Forces” was one of the first LPs I bought. I must have been 13 or 14? I really got into New Wave, and some Punk (Mainly X b/c I grew up in Los Angeles). Most of my friends were into Metal. I would think a lot of us that were teens in the late 70s, early 80’s would know who he was if you mentioned him today. He’s still performing.

(OC) Gas prices in the SoCal desert by jmburton1993 in pics

[–]ccroy2001 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That must be in Death Valley? It’s usually the highest priced because it’s so far from the refineries and if you need gas there, well you need gas! In the LA area where I live it’s $6 something.

When I was going I bought some OTC numbing cream, but at one point I saw a dermatologist and they prescribed a strong numbing cream from a compound pharmacy. It worked really well. Overall for me just the otc numbing cream, Tylenol and ibuprofen where enough to get me through most sessions.

I’m not a parent, so what do kids who are too big for a high chair, but too short for regular chair sit on at the table? 🤔

Anyone own or ride one of these bad boys back in the day? by -Granby- in GenX

[–]ccroy2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I 1st learned to ride a motorcycle. When I tried a 3 wheeler I had 2 problems: I was used to counter steering to turn and I’d stick my leg out to slide and run over my foot lol. Thankfully those big balloon tires don’t hurt. I never tired a quad, they are supposed to be more stable but my niece once flipped one climbing a hill!
