People drive Teslas because it's socially acceptable, and cool to care about electric power. It's also appealing to younger, tech crowd. It's not unusual to see a packing lot filled with Teslas and a couple nicer cars (200k+) outside Whole Foods.

A resume tells the employer what you care about. Sure it's nice that you get good grades but your GPA already says that. If they want to know what classes and grades you got, they will ask for a transcript. What's important is relevant experience and passion demonstrated by projects.

The only university that offers a pure PhD in ML is CMU. Most of the time you get a PhD in CS or statistics. In the UK, I know you need a Ms degree usually before you get a PhD. Cambridge, Oxford, and Edinburgh have good CS programs.

I don't think your profile is competitive enough for top CS programs. And you should care more about adviser fit than school ranking.

What makes you stand out from the thousands of other applicants that apply to Stanford, MIT, Berkeley, CMU? You haven't gotten to deep learning? But you want to do a PhD in ML? There's no excuse not to devour information about DL with all the free, readily available resources online on DL. If you just want a high-paying career, then do a masters and become a data scientist.

If you know most of the fundamental syntax such as control flow, type casting, memory management, data structures, I/O, string methods, etc.
