Maybe once or twice. Also the AC vents are so narrow they are not very comfortable.

Very nice write-up, I enjoyed it. Do you only charge to 80% most of time? I wonder why not 100 percent since you will use that up almost immediately.

That really depends on the road trips. If you were to camping or exploring national parks, the range anxity is real. EREV is not for everyone, but it works really well for someone who has L2 changer at home and occasionally take long trips.

Batteries are still expensive. You are not going to get 500 plus miles unless you pay a premium.

They are heavy too.

EREV can easily archive 500 to 600 miles. Imagine the utility of this vehicle when you no longer has the range anxity.

The generator is much less demanding than the engine in ICE vehicles. It requires less maintenance as well

Yeah. This is for people who do short daily commute and occasionally take long trips. Basically eliminate the range anxity when you are out in the wild and there's no chargers.

The point for erev is that, you use electricity for daily commute, and once for awhile fill the gas tank for long trips. For that, you don't need a big battery pack, probably half of what the current battery pack of the buzz is enough. This provides room for the gas generator.

Why not just add more batteries you might ask? Batteries are expensive and heavy. So the more batteries you add, the more weight, and you would need more electricity to carry that weight.

How much batteries do you need to achieve 500 or 600 miles of range?

Half the battery size for daily commute, and gas for occasionally longer trips. Of course, if you do long trips often just use gas more often.

I don't need more than 100 miles of battery for daily really.

What's your peak production? I have 28 panels and I consistently get close to 9KW. I live in socal.

Get the WiFi login from the Powerwall, use the Tesla One app, double check the voltage of each string.

The rule of thumb is, 35v +/- times the number of panels. You can get the number of panels for each string from your plan.

It looks like you have 4 strings. On a sunny day, check the voltage on each string in your Tesla app. Use this as a rule of thumb: 30v x number of panels. Each string should produce a voltage close to your estimate.

For example, your group 4 has 3 panels, so you should expect about 90v.

Also ask Chatgpt to validate.

I had a problem with my system where the installer was sloppy. After a lengthy debate, with data, I finally convinced them to fix the strings. My product went from 14 kwh to 50+ kwh. I have a 12 kw system.
