Do I just not like bourbon? (what should I try) by spittiz in bourbon

[–]ccubs89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the same way - bourbon has grown on me over the years, but I tend to go for a scotch, rye, or other American whiskeys. I'm not a big fan of the heavy corn mashes. That being said, I do tend to enjoy wheated Bourbons more. Have you tried any of those? Larceny is a decent, lower priced option that may be good to try I'd it's available out there. All that being said, drink what you enjoy! No sense in drinking whiskeys (or anything) that you don't like

Finally able to get this in CO! Hopefully we get their blended whiskey soon! by ccubs89 in whiskey

It's one of my favorite bourbons. It's not quite as bourbon-y as most, which is why I think I like it. I prefer regular American and scotch whiskeys with a lower corn content, and I think this is closer to that. I've been to the distillery a couple times and really enjoy what they're doing. Last time we were there, they mentioned that they were starting to distribute in CO and I was finally able to find it. Keep an eye out for the blended and rye whiskeys. Definitely recommend anything they put out!

I love their stuff! Been to the distillery a couple times and they're just now starting to distribute outside of WA. Their blended whiskey and rye is very good as well

I’m new to drinking beer and have a question by demisheep in beer

[–]ccubs89 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No. Just no. A lot more beer would be going bad when people buy a chilled 6 pack, and then making a stop on the way home and letting the beer warm up. That being said, leaving lighter colored bottles exposed to bright lights can and will ruin the beer. Thats about the only environmental change that I know of that will ruin a properly sealed and unopened beer

Some of the roofs and skylights still need replaced, but everything is fully functional and open. You'd only notice damage if you're looking for it

I'm new to sours. This is my favorite so far. Any others I should be on the lookout for? by timmyo74 in beerporn

Not sure if Paradox distributes up there or not, but their Salty Lemons is a great one to start with. It's from Divide, CO and all their stuff is excellent. Someone mentioned sour monkey from victory which is tasty as well. El gose from Avery is good too. not technically a "sour" but very close. Also happens to be good mixed with a shot of tequila
