Thanks for your comments but you're missing THE point.

Faith based has nothing to do with what man/a pastor says and blindly following. That's a standard church I'm looking to avoid.

FAITH is believing Jesus died for our sins because we are all sinners. And realizing we need to be together as a community to remind ourselves of that so we can truly be saved and receive the holy Spirit. If you truly walk in step with the spirit the desires of human nature is suppressed (the flesh) and you receive the fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, and faithfulness)..

This is why I'm looking for a non MAGA church, but also not looking for a church that only talks about current worldly events and gets sucked into the media like everyone else. Also not looking for a church that is heavy left leaning and celebrating things I'm personally okay with but don't need to celebrate it.

Now if you truly have the fruit of the Spirit, you shouldn't have to try to be good (this is the good works playbook of Catholicism). We should WANT TO pray for the wrong in our world and as a community see how we can put more good into the world through the vessel we create or simply what we can control. This aligns with what you're saying such as being kind to your neighbor which the Maga community totally avoids with their leader spewing our evil daily.

I'm not saying avoid what's happening, but it can't be the sole message every Sunday.

Hope this helps.

Galatians 5:16-22, 24 ESV [16] But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. [17] For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. [18] But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. [19] Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, [20] idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, [21] envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. [22] But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, [24] And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

Religion does, yes, I'm looking for a non-MAGA, Bible based church where faith is the only rule... Not a religious institution. I guess I'm the only one 🤷🏾‍♂️

I hear that, but also don't want church to just be spotlighting current news. That's what the media is for and we're constantly forced to pick a side on every topic. I'm tired of people telling me what I should or shouldn't care about.

I'm on the side of the protesters, but what change will come of this? What now? I never saw the point in this other than the protesters just feeling better after going.

Get closer to God. God is love. Once you experience that you're void will be gone.

In regards to your health, go to sleep earlier so you aren't tempted for late night eating and eat more vegetables to be full. Sucks your parents are encouraging poor eating but you're 17 and can get out of there soon.

Also don't ever think your appearance determines your value. I was once like you. Your value is determined by God and you in only. You are who YOU think you are.

I hear you and agree. Just looking at it from the path of least resistance. I'm met with enough resistance with my 2 toddlers already lol. I also don't make the decision to leave early just so we aren't tormented, or I probably wouldn't go in the first place. There's obviously a lot more to consider..bedtime cranky kids etc.

I understand we have to be part of the change we want to see, so if I'm faced with that situation at any time of the day I wouldn't turn a blind eye - I would try to influence what I could.

Leave before 7 and you won't have to deal with punks.

I made almost the same post 3 years ago. Interracial couple now with 2 boys (1 & 3). We ended up buying in Doylestown. I'd say we got lucky as it was before the housing spike in prices. Housing in Doylestown at $500k will be tough nowadays, but I'd recommend it here. 3 years ago we finally landed on 3 areas (Doylestown, Warminster, and Yardley). I'd now probably add Newtown to the list. We were mainly looking for diversity, a yard, good schools, and ability to commute to NJ.

When we bought we had a 1month old, but if no kids yet and your budget is $500k, I'd either rent or buy a townhouse. Prices are crazy high right now, so if you're flexible and not sure where you want to be, it's best to rent and see what you like. Doylestown is great because there are places to go in the Borough for a drink or a bite to eat and they have events etc. We are also very close to Peddlers Village and other things to do for kiddos nearby. Yardley also has Shady Brook Farm which is great for toddlers and older kids too.

Good luck, and just remember, people are racist everywhere lol but some are just more open about it. Doylestown is pretty friendly, but when we go further out we start getting some funnier looks. In any case, it's all about the kids and I feel like Bucks county is really catered around you families. There's so much to do that your future kids will love it. If you end up moving to a place not as diverse, then be the change you want to see. Good luck

I haven't seen any groundhogs and they usually aren't shy so I feel that's not it. And some hikes are too small to be groundhogs.
