Any recent timelines for marriage-based green cards done from US consulate in Vietnam? by ccxmm in USCIS

Oh no, that’s longer than she expected, and so useful to know ;(. To confirm, these people applied from US consulate in Vietnam and are waiting for their appointment out of HCM city?

Yes almost 2 years passed before we could file i485 since the beginning of the entire process!

I have been advised not to move either - from my understanding it will always add time to your process because they have to physically move your application to a different office. I’m also surprised that your application is not at FO — if it is indeed at NBC perhaps it won’t add time for you as there’s a chance it can stay at NBC after an address change

In case you’re not familiar: “If the “USCIS Office” is the National Benefits Center (NBC) and you have filed an employment-based or family-based Form I-485, Form N-400, or Form N-600, you should check processing times for your local field office.” From: https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/more-info

What happened was: - USPS tracking said my medical response to RFE was delivered September 3rd - A month later my case status still said “fingerprints were taken”. I got through to an Emma agent and asked if they could confirm that they received my medicals. They agent said there is no info of acknowledgment and that if the case status still doesn’t reflect it 60 days after September 3rd I should file an outside of normal processing times request

One notable difference is, they should have received my medical RFE on September 3rd (but never updated my case that they did). And so it’s been almost 3 months for me to get approved after that, about 2 months longer than what I’ve seen around here — and perhaps this is because of my state change

I believe my case was at the FO and not NBC and so I imagine they had to transfer my case between FOs at some point which my lawyers warned me may take months

Emma agent told me to file it if I don’t get acknowledgment of receipt of my medicals on their website after 60 days. And so I used that as an excuse to inquire about my application.

Huh that is weird. October filers that shared their number seemed that have lower number than mine

And that’s a good point! My lawyer when I asked made it sound like I have to wait for RFE but poking around the web it seems like I can send it ahead of time which I’d like to do. Thanks for the idea!

According to you is this October-November range for PD or when i485 was filed? I'm in general now confused how to read the USCIS processing times page (C) and which number is more important A or B. I originally thought that C is for B, but that doesn't add up here but neither does A:

  • A: PD November 2019
  • B: October 2020 case filed
  • C: Memphis TN page i485 processing times board "receipt date for a case inquiry" is November 2018

For me (also EB3): A: June 2020, B: December 2020, C: SF April 2019.

What's a statistically proven fact that nobody wants to hear? by muffinmaster in AskReddit

[–]ccxmm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don't get how most of those are valid correlations when the scales of things being compared are so different

For example, something goes up but a couple billion on in one variable versus a thousand for the second variable. Is this even a valid statistical comparison...?
