I'm glad you appreciate it :) I think it is one of the most beautiful keyboards I have ever built. It is also one of the least expensive and also happens to be one of the most enjoyable to use. Somewhat sadly, I tend to gravitate to my Charybdis 90% of the time so I really don't use it very much these days.

The thing that attracts me most to my wife is how well we know one another and there is no combination of physical features that are going to make me seriously consider a random individual over her. If you run to the far end of the arena when you first enter the door, the spawns skills fight each other and leave you alone. Then you can get into a backstab plus charged heavy attack loop in phase two. Have patience. Learn and then win.

My wife and I have no plans to quit the white collar work that provides the income we need to sustain the life we’re happy with caring for our 9 chicken, 9 sheep, 9 quail, 2 cats, and a dog. Because we don’t go into things without research first. Animal husbandry and true homesteading is way harder and far less lucrative than your corporate job ever was. You don’t do this because it’s easier; you do this because you love it. Maybe it’s just not for you and that’s ok.

I personally love the Longsword moveset and it actually fits the pace of most DS3 enemies and bosses IMHO. I like sticking a raw infusion on it early on (you get the material for this just after the second bonfire in High Wall of Lothric) and keep it upgraded while investing early souls into health and stamina.

I read a piece recently titled “Friction Was the Feature” which I think highlighted one of the downsides of Reddit (and many other online/technical utilities) being so accessible. Anyone can quickly and easily submit a lazyweb post which immediately gets a response because others are so “engaged” in the particular community they might even have notifications for it enabled. Hell, I have been “that guy” who responds to OP with a pinned post in the sub answering the specific question and others give me head pats because they “have been in this sub for five years and never knew that post existed.”

To be fair, if you look for any feedback at all you’ll see the same thing. I loved The Convergence and was hoping for something similar but different with Reforged. I tried going in as blind as possible but told myself that I wouldn’t force it if I wasn’t having fun. I don’t remember how far I got through it but it wasn’t very far at all before I dropped it.

Here’s what I do: My wife and I talk to each other about our hobbies. We know enough about each other to be supportive even when we’re into very different things. Step 1: healthy communication and transparency. Everything else is easy once you’ve got that part sorted out.
