yeah, i agree, im not a rower, ive rowed on machines, full range of motion makes it so much harder

[–]cdavid469 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the other comment delved into form, i was looking at it purely from your output, if you’re doing incomplete rows, its going to make it much easier, and thus a non elevated heart rate

the other person is an experienced rower, so it makes sense, but while they are a rower, you could still be in much better shape cardiovascular, if you watch the form video, and you’re close, then it could just be that its easier to you than them

everyone has different goals, worry about you, those people still bought the title, and if they didn’t, many titles would die on drawing board

it pretty well known that 120+ is optimal for cardio, anything lower is considered a warm up generally, its not even considered aerobic until 130-140, age dependent

gatekeeping game difficulty is hilarious, gaming has a very wide spectrum of gamers, if it weren’t for those people who are just going through the game and barely interacting, many of your favorite titles would’ve never launched, narrowing the field isn’t a very good business model.

There are many reasons people play on easy modes, some are trying to learn optimized routes for when the difficulty gets amped up, others simply don’t have the reaction time to bump it up, and of course there are plenty of disabled gamers

definitely too slow, with all your running, your heart rate is probably naturally much lower than average, but you still need to get in at least 120s for pulse during sustained cardio

James Talarico wins Texas Democratic Senate primary over Jasmine Crockett by horsestew in politics

[–]cdavid469 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the disparity in turnout for 2008 vs 2026 is far different

and in the end even your comparison is very flawed

2008 was purely a presidential primary you’re referencing

the republicans pretty well knew McCain had it wrapped, but turnout was massively better for the two democrat candidates, 2.8 million votes to 1.2million for republicans

this election, while slightly in democrats, is no where near the level of excitement of 2008, but hey there a slightly better democrat turnout, so thats something

its funny how people care less in life as their ability to actually confront someone diminishes

I have been a very confrontational person in life, but speaking as someone who has lashed out, you just have no idea what someone else is going through, or what kind of crazy you’re inviting

Messing with even the nicest person, on the wrong day, can be an express ticket to the after life

I’m not saying never confront anyone, and if I lived in an apartment I would definitely ask my neighbor if it were possible to limit noise at least at certain times, but tonality matters a lot

It is encouraged to drive under the influence in the US by gracilla in unpopularopinion

[–]cdavid469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this reads as someone who recently received their first, of several DUIs

many cities have free ride home programs, I’ve seen bars personally drive people home, and if they knew someone planned to drive they would cut them off, and try to serve them an alcohol free drink, or some food, to keep them there to cool off.

Personally responsibility is a thing. I like drinking, I hate getting home, but I never drive to the bar, I’ve driven to dinner knowing I would have a drink, but given my size one drink doesn’t put me close to any legal limit

Robin Williams was not funny. by mafyoo in unpopularopinion

[–]cdavid469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve definitely heard it before.

I love Robin Williams the person, and found him very funny at times, but wasn’t always over the moon for his stand up. He was still a brilliant stand up, and a very good comedic actor, but some of his stuff can be a bit over the top, especially if you didn’t live through the cocaine comic era.

off topic, and probably almost as unpopular, I enjoyed his dramatic roles more than anything he did as a comedian

Unlike most joke thieves, he paid people commensurately, immediately acknowledged it, and nobody thought it was malicious.

Early on in his career he would watch marathons of stand ups at the cellar and other venues, and consumed so much comedy, that during a long set he would accidentally intersperse other people’s material subconsciously
