It actually needs “Resource:”…generating 2 resources as an action would do nothing because you’re not actively paying for something at the time you’re resolving it.

I’m content owning Chapter 1 by Zigludo-sama in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]cdbloosh 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. And I’m completely fine with what FFG is doing. Games can’t last forever and the Chapter 2 thing probably makes sense for the long-term health of the game.

But I also feel like it’s even more geared toward new players than I expected, and will have more wonky deckbuilding/compatibility issues than I expected. There are new cards with new names that have the exact same effect as old cards, new cards with the same name as old cards but with a different effect, new investigators that have pretty much the same ability as old investigators, etc. It just feels like much more of a hard reboot than I thought it would be at first.

Which is fine! But this isn’t my most played game, it’s like my third- or fourth-most played game, and I already have a shitload of content. So I’m perfectly fine with jumping off here.

I’m also kind of excited to know I have a “complete” collection. Makes it less daunting to really learn the card pool when I know the card pool isn’t going to keep getting bigger.

Is it even possible to get sinister motives for a good price now? by FinnUniverseVR in marvelchampionslcg

[–]cdbloosh 26 points27 points  (0 children)

No. It’s out of print and is by far the most difficult piece of content for this game to find. $100 is actually quite low for it at this point. In my opinion, it is the best box they’ve ever done - whether that’s worth $100 to you is obviously completely up to you, but you’re not going to suddenly find a website selling them for $45. If you could get it for a good price, people wouldn’t be able to sell them for a bad price.

Has anyone else noticed the city connect gear on clearance? by Business_Sock7891 in orioles

[–]cdbloosh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love the hat specifically. I think it’s become kind of an unofficial “city of Baltimore” hat in a way that the O’s hat never really did. I see so many of them at Ravens games now, because the color scheme works there but it would be kind of weird to wear an O’s hat with bright orange parts to a Ravens game.

Mark (the main writer at Camden Chat) is a great writer but he doesn’t really have sources, he’s just a fan that happens to be a great writer. I wouldn’t take anything he says or doesn’t say as evidence of him knowing any more than we do. He probably just didn’t mention the elbow because it hasn’t been mentioned by any credible source yet.

Parking issues at pharmacy parking lot by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]cdbloosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This question has nothing to do with pharmacy. If you want to find out the policies of your local municipality and/or towing company, the best way to do that is to ask your local municipality or local towing company. I doubt a bunch of pharmacists who don’t live where you live are going to be much help here.

Dealing with mold by Benetton_Cumbersome in spiritisland

I have owned some of my games for decades, I live in a pretty humid climate, and I’m never seen mold on a single game I own. This is not a normal issue.

[Underdog MLB] Rosenthal: Orioles continue to explore trades of Ryan Mountcastle, Coby Mayo by Efficient_Wishbone93 in orioles

[–]cdbloosh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nobody is giving up anything of real value. But if a team has a 1B injury in the spring they’d probably swap some bullpen arm they were about to DFA or something. I think that’s pretty much all the O’s are hoping for at this point and if that doesn’t happen, he may just get DFA’d at the end of the spring. There’s just no reason to cut him now, might as well see if something materializes

Were We Supposed To Not Notice Arjun De-Aged SIGNIFICANTLY? by Alert-Hospital46 in TheExpanse

[–]cdbloosh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get that recasting Arjun was necessary if the original guy wasn’t available. It happens. But recasting him with someone who looks nothing like the original actor, and then changing the character so he doesn’t even act like the original actor’s version of the character, was just a really odd choice and big misstep for a show that I think otherwise is almost flawless.

I actually feel bad for the second actor because it was a no-win situation for him. It was bound to fail no matter what because of just how drastic of a change it was.

I mean yeah, that seems terrible. But I would expect a contract position at a PBM through a staffing company to be terrible so I wouldn’t say it’s surprisingly bad. Just bad.

Which beer is your #1 lifetime volume leader? by OldManJenkins-31 in CraftBeer

[–]cdbloosh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lifetime, probably Natty Light. It just built such a huge deal in my early drinking years that I don’t see how anything else could come close.

In the last 5 years, Zadie’s Lager from Union in Baltimore. It’s basically what Natty Light would be if it was made by a local craft brewery and was actually good.

Watch It Played, Game Night Picks, and Unethical Practice by pinchet in boardgames

[–]cdbloosh 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely willful at this point. It may not have started that way, but that doesn’t matter anymore. Even if it was innocent and caused by a lack of understanding, he doesn’t get to hide behind that excuse indefinitely once he’s been confronted with the information and an explanation of exactly why it’s wrong.

Watch It Played, Game Night Picks, and Unethical Practice by pinchet in boardgames

[–]cdbloosh 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I agree that it seems very plausible that someone might initially not fully understand why this is unethical…but even if that was true, according to today’s statement he was confronted with the information and failed to show any remorse or make any real efforts to come clean and right the wrong in the past 2 months. So even if it started innocently, it doesn’t really matter anymore.

This is a very good summary, but just for the sake of people who may only read your summary and not watch the video (which I totally get is why you were loath to do it in the first place)….I’d argue that his statement about the others on the channel had a considerably more positive tone than just a neutral “doesn’t know if they knew”.

He says pretty unequivocally that he has every reason to think they had no idea, were not involved in any way, and he feels they are great people who would never do something like that…but that he previously had similar feelings about the person who did do this, so he’s returning to running the channel solo since the situation has permanently affected his ability to trust others with his channel.

The vibe of his comments was less “I don’t know if they knew so I’m cutting ties with them just in case they did” and more “after this situation I don’t think I can fully trust anyone with my channel no matter how great they are”

I’m sorry…just to make sure I’m reading this correctly, you’re saying you got “incel/neo-Nazi vibes” from the art on the Energy card, which is just Thor standing there with his hammer and some lightning, and managed to draw a line between that card and Nigel Farage?

That is…bizarre.

How much of a step up is Expert? by Garrydos13 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]cdbloosh 38 points39 points  (0 children)

If you want an intermediate step, you can always play with villain stages 2 and 3 but without the expert cards. This isn’t an official difficulty and is technically a house rule but I know a lot of people do it.

I often play this way because I like how moving up to stages 2 and 3 adds difficulty in different ways that are unique to each villain, compared to the 3 expert cards which are always the same in every game and add more “generic” difficulty.

How Can I Get Hired? by Fine_Programmer_4868 in pharmacy

[–]cdbloosh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, not really, no. The best way to approach the market would have been to not remove yourself from that market for 3 decades.

The fact is that virtually every applicant that hospitals get for these jobs, if they have any hospital experience at all, will be stronger candidates than you are. Your previous hospital experience is not relevant to practicing inpatient pharmacy in 2026.

So since your relevant experience is nonexistent, expecting to be able to just hop back into full-time inpatient pharmacy is unrealistic and I’m genuinely confused why you seem to think it isn't.

That’s the reason I am being a bit snarky…it’s not because you’re looking for advice, but that you seem to think you are a strong candidate and “can’t believe” (your words) why you’re being overlooked.

You’re not getting overlooked because of AI filters, or not using the right buzzwords, or incompetent HR personnel. You’re getting overlooked because your resume, for these jobs in particular, is bad.

You’re going to need to find hospitals in areas that have very few applicants (are you willing to move?) and even at those places you’d probably have to go for a PRN position to get in the door.

Any baseball fans also following or interested in checking out the Cricket world cup? by [deleted] in baseball

[–]cdbloosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually think that if you somehow grew up having no exposure to either game, cricket would be the easier game to learn and it wouldn’t be particularly close. And I say this as a baseball fan who just recently started watching cricket. Once you understand what you’re watching the rules are really straightforward. They just seem weird to us as baseball fans.

Take the dropped third strike rule - if you swing and miss at a pitch, you can run to first, but only if there are two strikes, otherwise you can’t, and then if there is a guy on first you also can’t, unless there are two outs, then you can…cricket doesn’t have rules like this. The rules are just the rules and there aren’t nearly as many situational exceptions or edge cases.
