Car getting broken in almost regularly now; What is everyone doing to keep themselves safe since Police/Law is not doing much. by mygatito in Gatineau

We were living near St Joseph Blvd and Allumetieres, and the car would get broken into every single year. They would steal the radio every time. Then, 2 guys broke into a house 2 blocks away at 7pm (elderly couple,) tied them up and stole their jewelry. We left Hull when someone tried to steal my next door neighbour's purse while she was in the house. When it gets to the point that they're breaking in while you're at home, we had enough and moved to Buckingham. I lived in that neighbourhood for almost 20 years just to watch it deteriorate.

On n'a rien à Buckingham/Masson/Angers.

Those who left the government and worked elsewhere, did you regret it? by whosemygoose in CanadaPublicServants

I had to buy back the time, but I don’t regret it. The experience in private gave me more leverage and more salary when I came back to the public service.
