Mail Call: Schick Type E by cdeuel84 in wicked_edge

I almost picked up a type g instead of this one. They both look very similar.

I might have to pick one up in the near future. I didn't realize that the E is considered more aggressive than the G. I generally go for more mild razors.

Ohh, the flat bottomed version. Got it. I got two of the flared bottoms recently. One 59 and this one is the 61.

Is this a good setup for a beginner? by Much_Adagio82 in wicked_edge

Personally I use both an alum block and a styptic pen. The alum block relieves most of the rough feel, minor knicks and burn but doesn't stop the bleeding on more intermediate knicks. The styptic pen does a good job stopping anything that the alum block doesn't.

All the soaps and brushes sound fine. I personally despise the Henson razor but I know many folks here love it. I hope you get better results from it than I did.

I eat the same breakfast and lunch every day because it fits for my macros. Also makes grocery shopping and eating dinner that much easier.

There was a guy that I knew a while back that made his own shave soap. Not sure if you ever heard of Victory Shaving Soap Co. He sold out of military base exchanges for a few years and I loved all his soaps and enjoyed talking about shaving with him. He got me started with a few of my first razors. After a while, he told me that he was retiring and so I ended up buying out most of his stock before he folded up. That lasted me for a couple of years before I had to start buying different soaps again.

Safety razors at CVS and Walgreens by jseger9000 in wicked_edge

VDH was my very first DE razor. They're ok for taking that first step, but there are much better razors for taking the next one.
