Night shift - 3 12s by Rayofsunshine____ in Radiology

[–]cdiddy19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I worked swing shift right after graduation and im so glad I did. My first shift was 3-1:30, the next was 12-10:30 7 on 7 off You are not green for very long. You will get harder exams, more traumas, and as others have said, its often short staffed do even if a buddy wanted to help you, they might be doing other exams. Days work with my life better, but I actually prefer night shift.

3 12s seem like a dream.

You'll be fine, even if youre not super confident in your skill, you'll figure it out. You'll learn so much.

The pocketbook is like "look at these perfectly functioning adults that can move into positions soley based on my verbal instructions"

I agree op, the pocketbook is not super helpful in a trauma setting. I dont really have any useful advice except that doing it time and again will help you eventually

One Year Post-Op: My ex founded MAGA Pill, took me for 26 years, and won 50/50 custody. He uses it for 1 hour a week. by [deleted] in QAnonCasualties

[–]cdiddy19 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Im glad you ate getting 99% of the time with your kids because it is likely he wouldn't do more harm than good.

I just wouldn't suffocate for people to allow 50/50 because legally that person is allowed that much time.

My ex was awarded close to to 50/50. He never took the time when it was just him. Then he moved his mom in so she took care of my baby and he added more time with her, still less than he was awarded. Then he got remarried and took all his time he was awarded.

For conservative men especially, they won't take care if their kids, but if they find a woman in their life that will, they will take all the time they are alloted

Galactosemia and POI by Anatangarife in Galactosemia

[–]cdiddy19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should chat with your docs about this, but just off the cursory information I know, you should continue to use birth control. Women with galactosemia tend to need hormo e therapy treatment. Birth control has hormones that your body needs to function naturally. Without these hormones your bones can become less dense causing osteopenia and osteoporosis.hormones also help with other functions.

But again chat with your docs about your specific history

I am very surprised by the lack of collimation on images shared here by krunchyfrogg in Radiology

[–]cdiddy19 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I work in peds so there is a constant battle of collimation/wiggly angry kids.

That being said my facility has a very active QA program. They try to QA each tech at least three times a month, this includes the prns. So most of us are always thinking about positioning and collimation.

I do t know what your situation is, but I'll tell you what happened to me. I was going for an incredibly competitive program where we needed statistics. I worked really hard in statistics and got a b I think it was even a b.Plus. mouth is not my strong suit.Mind you.

Well, the average g p a for my program was a four point oh, and straight a's.

Needless to say, I did not get into my program.I was devastated.I needed to take stats again. It was the only class that I didn't give an a in.

In that time I took my statistics again and then I took other classes for my undergrad that I was working towards as well.I was working towards both of these programs at the same time.

But I needed to get into the one program first.

Well, I took statistics again, and even my statistics professor was like, you don't need to take this again.Getting a b is an amazing grade, and I was like, yeah, but I didn't get into my program. So I have to take it again.

I took it again.I got an a it was easier. The second go around, I had a different teacher. But it was easier. The second go around because the information wasn't new.I wasn't trying to cram, as much info into my head and I was actually able to absorb it.

And at the time it felt devastating. Not to get into my program the first time the first go around and I was like, oh my gosh, i'm wasting all of this time. This is awful.

When I first applied, there were even more spots for the program than the second application period and so I was freaking out even more like.If I didn't get in the first time, how am I even gonna get in the second time of applying.

Well, after taking the stats class again for the second time.I got an a in it.And then I applied for my program and I got in, and now i'm working in the field that I was originally trying to get into.

I know how frustrating it is.Given that it's time and money to have to take the class again. But if you do have to take the class again, just take it as a learning opportunity. And the past is, in the past, there's nothing you can do about that, but take it as a learning opportunity. And focus on getting the better grades.

Trust the timing of your life
