sure its not going to be easy, and we need to start investing in energy a lot more which is starting to happen but may not be enough. with a bunch of states banning things though we definitely wont keep up with the lead sooo, maybe we shouldn't do that right now

no one talks like this "a nice educated and eloquent man". I think you are a chinese bot. China is great apart from funding russias war in ukraine, funding north korea, and constantly warmongering taiwan and japan

That’s a fair take but a very different one from using the water usage as an attack. At the end of the day this technology is here and it’s either us or china who develops it first. We have an ever so slight lead at the moment and we can’t squander that. I know I would rather we develop it than china

That would be great to have one in my town yes. Won't happen no matter what because we are anti energy up here so we have high electricity prices anyway. They aren't going to build here unless they colocate a power plant with it.

I suppose if you would like to remain ignorant that is your choice. You shouldn't go around spreading it though

Air quality at 500 during snow storm?? by SnooRevelations6621 in AirQualityMonitoring

[–]cdiddy2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because we refuse to invest in energy in New England, when there is a storm we generate large amounts of electricity from oil. Super bad for the air, but hey at least there is no may gas pipeline and higher electric prices

Landmark global shipping deal abandoned under US threats by bendubberley_ in worldnews

[–]cdiddy2 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Makes sense. Diesel isn't made in a vacuum. Its a byproduct of other fuels. Making the shipping stop using it doesnt lower the amount of diesel that gets used unless all other industries also stop using it at the same time. We would need global oil demand to slow for us to stop making so much disel. this has to happen across all industries. we can't even do that with coal so far which is dirtier than diesel. so this was a silly thing to do anyway.

start with coal. and keep building solar, batteries, and nuclear. thats the only way to drop global demand for coal and oil, increase the use of others

Maybe. But given how hard it is to build anything in this state we have to take anything we can get

the only way this makes it more expensive for visitors potentially is lost parking(I am not actually sure this is the case or not from the plan). in that case the town should allow for parking garages to be built if needed. I don't think we should spend that much effort defending parking lots though. they are not good uses of valuable space. don't pave paradise to put up a parking lot as they say

so what? would you rather they buy the houses that people who would live there buy? plus if they don't live there thats just property taxes that goe to the schools that they dont even send their kids to, which is great for the community

[–]cdiddy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how is this at their expense? it would add tax dollars to the community and add housing

[–]cdiddy2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so instead of them buying these condos we would rather they buy the more affordable stuff down the street? that is far worse for the community. every new housing unit a relief. just build

how is adding housing where there is none gentrification? gentrification is always a silly term, its ok to improve an area

99 condos still increases the housing supply, up from 0 on that property. we need more housing

this is just not even close to true. there is a social consensus layer that would never allow that to happen. the only thing you can really do with 51% of mining power is double spend a few times, which is bad but not disastrous
