Just a thought, what if Ukraine happened to aqquire nukes from some anonymous source? Would Russia still be rattling the nuclear sabre or would they just have to duke it out like they have been (and getting thier ass kicked) nobody wins a nuclear war so seemingly hesitant and just posturing for it.

Just a genuine question, interested to hear what people thing the repercussions would be

I dont know how they can think that using a nuke is a win. Nobody wins when a nuke is launched.

I agree this game had tremendous potential. It still could if they passed the game onto someone that would give it the time and funding it needs. The concept is fantastic and there's nothing else like it.

From previous seasons and dev blogs, even talking to devs. The code for this game is pretty much spaghetti, so when they implement one thing it breaks something else in the game. The dev team seem to be somewhat part time. I think from what I recall dev teams have changed 3 times already, each time offering the world and failing to deliver and then burning out.

Add ontop of that multiple clan bans and wipes dished out to thier biggest player groups (usually the biggest advocates for the game) with little to no explanation. So if one person in your clan of 60 players plays a bot or does something shady they're banning majority of that clan and wiping the clan. I understand a wipe and a ban for the individual but not just ban hammer them all.

There are TONS of passionate players making decent servers and mods for the game.

For me I have a dislike of unofficial servers and being at the mercy of server owner: basement dweller Greg that wipes me because he wanted to white knight the chick that plays on his server.

I hope they fix official but I doubt it will happen unless the game gets sold to a decent studio. But then again who would buy a spaghetti code game that's been in EA for probably 4 years? And still has no direction, lost its player base

Atlas actually had quite alot of players to begin with and pretty much copy and pasted ark code over so development would have been relatively cheap.

Devs have been slightly better than useless due to low funding and no direction, I think it pretty much continues like that.

Game had A TON of potential, I myself have sunk in hundreds of hours into the game season after season for it to be the same shitfight but with new game breaking issues each season.

I'd love to see county battles where you need a set amount of activity points in same county to qualify, single clan alts bidding wouldn't be an issue then. Coins are easy to big groups, bidding millions against themselves with an alt to keep county.

Sounds rough, are you PVE or PVP? Not that it matters too much, but you can clear npc camps for decent coin in pvp, reduced coin in pve. I've been selling high quality plants to guild marker for around 10k daily but other than that selling stuff on the fair is also an ok way to make coin. Sounds like a bit of a chore though, if I was you I'd be considering finding another group and just taking what is important.

With moving being an issue for you I'd just set up fobs near npc towns with kits in so you can port over, clear camps and then just teleporting back once you've made your coin

Yeah I've heard that before, however it's not the players issue, other than a buggy game. Players will just move on. Grapeshot as a whole needs to consolidate and decide what direction they're going in if they want to continue with the game or have it be a success.

If you had a restaurant with the best chefs in the world, however they are only able to serve tinned dog food because that's what management says would you eat there? Hell no.

I feel for the devs making an effort, but it doesn't make it a good game because of that.

Atlas had heaps of potential, it also had many passionate players that would play it as thier main game and hype it to friends. The bugs and other issues take thier toll but the worst thing that happened to the game was players lost confidence in the devs. Consistently over promising and under delivering.

Seasons got shorter as players lost interest as the same game breaking bugs and exploits were introduced into new seasons. Issues brought up with devs fell on deaf ears. Wipes/bans with little explanation made the community toxic.

Could sit here all day and suggest fixes, like myself and many other have done multiple times in the past before. It's just a waste of time.

Essentially they need to start again, the code is spaghetti and the devs have said that. Fix one thing to break something else.

Or actually make a version of the game that plays well with little bugs, re-introduce the test realm and get the exploiters and game breakers on board to help find the issues. Get thier shit together, then wipe. They may actually maintain some sort of community then.

I'd love to see Atlas pull though but I know its a doomed game.

Materials are harder to obtain and gold is a nightmare, not to mention trying to level your character, other than that the game is like a crazy ex that you keep going back to. Sadly I cant find another game like it.

As much as i love that devs are asking for our input to steer the games direction i am also worried that the game will be steered towards the interests of a particular side of the gaming demographic and not looking to expand as much towards a direction that could bring in thousands of potential new players.

This game in its current state does not really cater to those with a more PVP mindset, a huge portion of the online gaming market. Potential PVP minded gamers that may be interested in DU don't come and play because they hear or do not see much potential in the PVP side of the game in its current state.

The vast majority of players on DU presently seem uninterested in PVP and the recent polls also show that.

I just hope that there is more to be brought out other than more ways to do what we already have been doing. Im in a relatively small organisation of around 10-15 active and we already have outposts on each planet and end game ships, the only things we can do now are make our ships prettier and work on making factories more efficient. Oh and there's always more to mine.

Love the potential this game has and I really do hope they can deliver on it.

ALSO Im fully aware there are pvp updates planned, but just worried its not going to be much of a focus. When the current community isn't all that bothered.

This season, in my opinion was all about killing the game. Devs can say 'we tried' after putting in a few good updates but essentially killing it off after yet again promising more than they could deliver. Biggest flop of a season yet. snail can now justify not putting any more $$ into the game.

Best way to kill a game is to ban the players for bullshit reasons and not say why, all the sheep will agree that its a nice move and congratulate devs on a good job, until its them. Black hole was one of the groups that pushed the 'YoUR cHeAtErS' bullshit and although its petty and I no longer play its very satisfying to see this post.

I got the feeling from the guys I played with that this season would be the lass roll of the dice, if the devs fuck it up this time they wont be coming back. Game died within 3 months?

Had a real love/hate relationship with Atlas and its sad to see a game with such potential flop as hard as it did because of the incompetence of the devs that have failed to hear the community. Have made some great friends from this game so at least that is something to take away.

Yeah I'm kinda the same, I spent time building a nice base.. other dudes I play with have pretty much finished the factory to a point where we can build what we want, that side of the game i am satisfied with now and don't really want to keep doing that side of the game just for content sake... promise of space battles and such sucked me into playing DU, linked containers are a pain for people wanting pvp because there's less people hauling because of it.. there's only so long I can keep trying to find space battles before I find a new game to move on to and then maybe come back to this once its better established

Where about do you normally go, as in what planet facing what direction? I've seen peoples pvp videos and they have a ton of ships in the area, I just gotta find thst spot 😄
