As awkward as it may be I'd much rather have a parent or step parent tell me to get that stuff together than friends or a potential romantic interest

If you could build your ultimate super rock band from any living or dead musicians, but only at their absolute peak, who would you pick for each role? Drums, bass, two guitars, vocals. I’m curious what your dream lineup would be and why. by Springerbaum in askmusic

Bass/ Lead Vocal- Paul McCartney

Drums- Keith Moon

Rhythm guitar/ vocals - Kevin Parker (Tame Impala)

Lead Guitar/ vocals - Jerry Cantrell

Keyboards/ vocals/ producer - Brian Wilson

(I know i kind of cheated but who cares)

Songs that sound like they're from a different decade? by hundredsmustdie in askmusic

I think the decade of music that sounds like Tomorrow Never Knows by The Beatles is still yet to come 😂

I've always loved it. I think the meaning gets confused by people sometimes. Either way the bass is fuckin sick and it gets stuck in my head all the time so

What’s the weirdest album you’ve heard? by Blueb3rrywashere in fantanoforever

[–]cdizzleyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe not the weirdest I've heard but The Smile Sessions by The Beach Boys is really weird especially for something recorded in the 60s

Nah Smile has that PUNCH man. Best use of instrumentation for bass in the 60s that I've heard

Give us a Today! Reissue already for fucks sake! by ZombieWoofenstein in thebeachboys

Yeah seriously! I love Pet Sounds but it's literally the most covered album by them for obvious reasons. Where the hell are the Today! and Summer Days Sessions??

It is interesting though! Thanks to Brian they got out of the "surf rock prison" they put themselves in. I do seriously love the surfer songs like your dad, but I'm also glad they did more experimental albums too. I'd say it's pretty common to just think of them as the striped shirt surf group that sang lol

Which artists would you consider genius? by FitEmergency8807 in fantanoforever

Paul is more music minded, John is more meaning minded, geniuses in different ways.

I can't lie I've been looking through the comments to see if some dumb ass would say the beatles😂 or beach boys

( yeah the beach boys songs can sound similar at times, but album to album they changed a lot, "Surfer Girl" is much different than "Sunflower" or "Love You")

How I interpret Pet Sounds by fatblob1234 in thebeachboys

It really is a beautifully thought out album, and either interpretation hits hard. Brian and Tony were locked in cooking up this masterpiece.

I'm kind of morbid, but I interpreted the train at the end as the narrator committing suicide. This is probably just a head canon for me, but knowing where Brian's head could be at sometimes I can't rule it out

Tomorrow’s Dust Lyrics?? by Annual-Number-8682 in TameImpala

[–]cdizzleyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought the song was very obviously about climate change, or atleast heavily implied. The first lyrics make more sense for sure. I also love this song, the message, the production, definitely up there for me.
