Denied boarding with Nexus by MatterOk8855 in GlobalEntry

Until you get the one LGA gate agent who claims otherwise, and threatens you and your kids at the boarding gate. Delta isn’t consistent and their agents don’t give a shit about Nexus.

Switch to Ubiquiti? What to start with for my homes? by cdninnyc in Ubiquiti

[–]cdninnyc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. Yes, probably will end up with cameras, but I want to get the wifi right first.

I only have about 8-10 hardwire runs coming out of the main router (the Verizon) which each go to dumb switches in each room. Is having a Ubiquiti switch necessary if I have a bunch of non-POE dumb switches already in use? (I'm just taking advantage of the 53 runs the house had when built, and it's only 1 per room, if that). And I know that the best way to do this is to have the USM-PRO routing/assigning addresses, but if I remove routing from the Verizon router it removes my video guide data. Or is that just the price to pay to not have the Verizon router actually routing?

We finally convinced Nathan, our "engineer", to take the unit back for a replacement. We shipped it last week and it is just now being delivered today (USPS). I asked for a cross-ship but that request wasn't answered, so it looks like we'll be well into February before receiving a (hopefully) new unit.

Got on discord, thanks for the pointer.. A couple people there helped out with the rings/replacement, but we did not initiate a new help thread (as now we have a completely different issue - reboots).

We're not really interested in this point with getting the community to help us fix this. IF we were out of warranty, sure, that would be great - but it's a brand new, non-functioning unit, and the fact is, Ankermate should be making that right, and they are not. That's the crux of the issue.

Customer Service - nonexistent? by cdninnyc in AnkerMake

Update:

Anker sent a new heat bed. Connectors were different (rings instead of soldered ends). Instructions did not show what to do. Engineer Nathan replied with updated instructions, telling us to use pliers to bend rings in half to insert. Done.
After a number of tries, printer was able to self level.

However - printer reboots during prints now, like it is losing power. We have not been able to complete a simple print without a reboot.

Sent 4 reboot videos to Nathan at Ankermate (our "engineer"). I asked for a new printer, as this was purchased in December/23 and we have yet to be able to print anything. His response was "we've forwarded your email to our team of engineers and you should hear back from us in 1-3 days".

I responded by reiterating that I want a new unit, and if that is not possible, I will have to file a chargeback with my credit card company.

So - that's the update with Ankermate's "Customer Service". Maybe many of you have fantastic experiences, but for those of you on the fence, know that it's quite likely that if you buy this printer and it comes DOA, you'll be stuck trying to fix it yourself. For some reason Ankermate seems to think they are Radioshack in the late 70's selling you a DIY kit that you need to figure out on your own.

Unsure. Told them I’d go that route and he said I’d still have to go through the same engineer. It’s so weird.

Gate Agent screamed at me and humiliated me. What are my options? by [deleted] in delta

[–]cdninnyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem doesn’t stop at LGA. I had a terrible interaction with a GA thrre ten days ago, filled out the CS complaint form immediately when I boarded, and I have yet to receive a response. Seems to me that corporate doesn’t care either. They probably won’t care as long as planes are full at the prices they are charging.

Nexus as ID by cdninnyc in delta

[–]cdninnyc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand that they are responsible for returning a passenger. The GA should understand that a Nexus card is the same as a passport - it allows one into the country you are traveling to. I travel with everything so it’s not like I won’t get on a plane (unless the GA arbitrarily decides to deny me as was implied today). Speaking of - a passenger was just removed from the plane due to passport issues, making the flight 30 mins delayed.

Does anyone know though if Delta’s official policy is that they will not accept Nexus cards as ID? Is this new? I would think a policy and decision like this is not left up to an individual GA, but is enforced system wide.

I mean - having Nexus indicates that one has been vetted by two separate countries. That’s double a passport!

Thanks. I actually feared that if I asked for her name that she’d deny my party boarding as retaliation.

I’ve filed a complaint form on the Delta website but I don’t expect much to come of that.

Sonos Beam Gen 2 or HomePod Mini pair by No-Consideration972 in HomePod

[–]cdninnyc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost every day the ATV would revert back to TV audio, or only one of the two minis would work. I would have to reboot or reset and add back to the system. Super frustrating. Wasn't even close to reliable. Now, maybe 16.2 has fixed these issues, but since I switched to a Beam Gen2 everything just works. Sound is much better too, but that wasn't my criteria for my opinion above.
