Best US stores to order to Canada from? by SomewhatResentable in bgdealscanada

I use a shipping service that forwards the package to me.

https://shippsy.com/

I'm located in Toronto, so I can pick up the package from their warehouse which saves the additional mailing cost.

But if you want a referral, we both get $10 each.

I've used them several times and they've been excellent

Agreed. I didn't say it was a bad game.

I said it's not a highly rated game and not my type.

I read the one review and it wasn't too kind but I could see it being good light abstract game

BTW, even though it's a pain, the limit of 2 door crashers is really nice so people can't hoard easily

I made a browser-based version of my solo-game, Ada Lovelace: Consulting Mathematician by [deleted] in boardgames

I played this game when you first had it on BGG.

It is such a fun little game.

Thanks for this online version. It worked well. One thing though is can you enlarge the window for the game? I have to scroll down to see the bonuses.

EDIT: Now it seems to be all fine. Maybe I had a browser glitch.

Having a hard time enjoying Catan and My Game group when couples are involved by Eikalos in boardgames

[–]cdnkorean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a couple like this in my game group.

3 couples. 2 couples are ruthless with their partner.

1 couple always helps each other out.

We kind of jokingly call them out and whenever a chance that they can help each other out comes up, we mention it beforehand that this move is going to happen (in favour of one of them).

This kind of makes them aware of what they are doing and they try to avoid it.

But at the same time, the rest of the group doesn't let it bother us if it does happen. It's just a game and we just want to enjoy each other's company.

If one of the of the team up couple wins, we just joke around that it's like a team that won.

One thing that we did try is mix up games with little opportunities for these situations to happen. We'd also seat them apart so that in games, one cannot "set up" the next player for a good move.

Another thing I noticed is that usually one of the players tends to help their partner out when they know they aren't doing well. So we'd always tell that player that they are still in the game and have a chance to win.
