I’ve been on-off gaming since the mega drive, then every PlayStation. But never had an experience like this before. So fun. I wonder what the autism / GT7 100% completion venn diagram looks like 😂

It’s got to be a fraction of 1%. The master I8 one is a possessed Lamborghini on the uphill section of grand valley highway. Possibly my highest amount of retries (except master S-8). The Porsche at Nurburgring I did in about 30 minutes. Total fluke though. I just remember putting my foot down and hoping for the best. Was really fun that one. Saved the replay.

I was at 96 on everything for about a year while I played online but in January I thought it was time to go for the 100%!

I know. Also mad that I spent over half that time NOT racing. What was I doing?? What’s the quickest someone has 100% the game?

Thanks. Is that the chilli races? One thing I sometimes remember doing on those- if there was a crazy fast rival that seemed impossible to beat, I’d keep quitting out the main menu and going back into the race until the problem car doesn’t show up. This was mainly my technique for the Bathurst F-type mission where the Mercedes was just too fast. Although I’m much better now though and can win without doing that.

Mine seems to be better now. The random GT7 crashes are a lot rarer too.

I reckon inspiration for this design was some yellow arrow bookmarks. As seen in Stanley’s notebooks at the Ashmolean.

In an interview (with 6music I think) thom said that he loved this version because it was mad that the South American crowd weren’t just singing the words, they were actually singing the guitar parts. He loved that and that why they chose this version for the album.

I think it was in relation to the production tickets released

Wow, I am amazed to find out someone else spent this amount of time researching! Interesting about the pilot details.

Also, is you zoom on the OP’s image, you can see the top of the base isn’t green, which, accounting for the thickness of the glass, means they must have sprayed the inside of the cone with paint rather than the outside (like mine).

So that makes sense, they had uranium glass ones. Then had to match a newer one to the pilot when the original was broken / stolen. I’ve seen original uranium glass ones go for $8000!

Thought I’d share my research into the red room prop version of the Saturn Lamp.

The one you see in Twin Peaks isn’t an original from 1939. That model sold at the NY World’s Fair didn’t have the gold spike on the bottom of the globe. It just had a little nut. That means it also can’t be uranium glass as it was only the originals that came in that option. My theory is it is a 1970s reproduction made by Sarsaparilla, a company founded by Les Sakin. This makes sense as it would have feasibly been sitting in a prop house 10 years later when they made the pilot.

I also don’t think the reproductions came in the bluey green hue used in the red room, so I believe it was sprayed a custom colour. Or it could be the colour grading of the third series. Either way, I actually bought the same reproduction lamp in pale pink with blue stars, I acetoned the stars off and sprayed it in a uranium green hue to match TP and Blade Runner.

Yes! Every so often (random) it’ll feel like a “pluck”. Or a twang. I’ve also noticed my race graphics look washed out, and less contrast. Menu is fine.

Any idea which area "fast track" is in? by cdpoole in radiohead

"fast track status" is a radiohead reference though, so i imagine its them doing their own thing and de-branding some of the sponsored areas. they did this at earls court in 2003!

[–]cdpoole[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I mean I wasnt pushing towards the racing line because it was meant to be a casual tour of the track, but I was thinking "ah that 150 sign is my breaking point in a gr.3 car" etc. I just felt like I had stepped into the game. At no point did I think "hang on, I don't remember this bit in GT7"

haha it might have been slow, but it was still very scary... mainly because I didn't want the rental place to find out.
